Bizarre experience. Went in one day to ask about getting a hitch installed on our new car. The young man we spoke with was really great and I told him so. He makes an appt for us to come back the following week at 2pm. We show up at a few minutes to 2 and, talking to someone else, are told that we are late -- that our appt was at 1:30pm. We show him the receipt that clearly states a 2pm appt. This guy tell us, "our last appt to install hitches is 1:30pm, we do not install them later than that time as it takes long and the guy who does this work leaves at 3 (or so)". So we say "ok, why then did you book us for 2pm?". Then he explained that the software automatically redoes the time to 1:30pm but, we asked, it does not notify the customer. So we ask him why is that our fault?He says something to the effect "I do not know but this is not my problem". And he tells us we have to rebook. My wife asked if we would get some sort of discount to which the guys says no and then I suggest maybe an apology would be in order (my wife was getting agitated) and he says "I have nothing to apologize for" and just sits there staring at us as if to suggest that we can take our business elsewhere. I decided to simply rebook and get it done in a few days. We rebook, get it done and when we are checking out I asked another guy if he can come out and walk us through what he did. He immediately gives us an attitude asking us "well, what questions do you have ?" I said, we just want to go over it. When he came out he did, thankfully, explain that we can remove the ball etc....so that was helpful...but, we had to ask for him to show us what he did....they did not offer. Long story short, it started out very good but ended not great. Puzzling. At one point on the 2nd appt, I mentioned to someone who seemed like a manager what had happened the prior day and all he said was "oh yea, I heard about that, I heard you showed up late". LOL - uh no. We were there on time but I am guessing the guy who handled us the first day was worried they would get a complaint and lied saying we were late.

This is BS!!! I made a reservation for a 10' u-haul truck to this location because i'm getting my stuff from hendersonville and moving it to GA. I made that reservation WELL over a week ago. My boyfriend, his mom, and I were 2 hours into our drive from GA when i get a call from them saying that they don't have my truck... WTF!!!! All they could say was " We can give you 50 dollars,".?!

Horrible experience. The worst truck company I have ever worked with. I would give zero if I could. We reserved a truck 24 hours in advance, go to pick it up the next day and it was not available. The manager said not one single truck was available. Osheas Ray, the manager, was rude, and condescending. He is not qualified to do the job. This is a horrible business. Do not use them. You will be disappointed.

I called the 800 number and made a reservation. I was emailed confirmation of the reservation for today, Sunday at 1pm. I drive to the location (30 minutes from my house, but they had the soonest appointments). I arrive and let them know I’m there for a hitch install. The associate replied “dropping off for tomorrow?” And I replied no, it’s today at 1pm. He looks up my reservation and states it’s Tuesday, not today. I told him I wouldn’t have booked for a Tuesday, since I work. I looked up the email and sure enough, the email states today. I showed him. He replies, “the guy who does the installs isn’t in on Sundays or Mondays.” As if I should have known that? Come to find out, while the 800 number booked me for Sunday, the store itself changed my reservation to Tuesday and didn’t bother to notify me. When I showed up today, no apologies were offered. I was treated flippantly and as though I should have already known. He offered to reschedule but I was so upset by that point I decided to just leave. He calls after me “I guess you want me to cancel the Tuesday appointment?” It felt as though he was mocking me. I call the 800 number, spoke with someone who tried to transfer me back to the store. When I declined, he offered to transfer me to “corporate.” Ended up transferring me to some department that isn’t open on weekends. Does uhaul even care about customer service?

I've had good service getting propane and renting in town vehicles when I needed a pickup for projects around the house. However, they don't have a direct phone number to the business. When you call the "local" number it sends you to U-haul's corporate call center. Trying to help my son plan his one-way rental out of state has been challenging since I can't get some of my questions answered by U-haul (I couldn't find answers to everything on the website). On three different days I've called, but had to hang up after waiting for an agent for so long. The first time I called was early afternoon and waited just over 15 minutes before giving up. The second time was around 6:00 pm (the location closes at 7). I called and was told by the automated system the wait time was 20 minutes. I waited about half of that before getting frustrated and hanging up. My third attempt was 9:45 am and I waited 22 minutes before the agent answered. It did not give me a wait time, just kept saying "a customer service representative will be with you as soon as possible". I started out asking the agent why I can't reach the local store. She said that the local store's calls are forwarded to the call center after the 2nd ring. My guess is that the Hendersonville store just refuses to answer and leaves callers having to deal with the call center. That is just terrible.

This retired vet needed a pick up for a few hours to transfer a boat trailer locally. Reserving was easy and efficient, the vehicle was clean and pick up was a dream. The front desk guys were both friendly and cognizant of my needs immediately, The Ford PU was great and, the return was quick and well handled. The $$$ part was very reasonable and this ex-Navy guy wanted to thank the nice folks at U-Haul for making my morning trailer towing job easy. THANKS!

I've literally never left a yelp review, but the service here was so bad, and the staff was so rude... I figured this must be what yelp is for. I would definitely encourage people to steer clear of this place. They were so rude to me it completely took me off guard and ruined my day... paying slightly more to go elsewhere

Don't ever use this facility! I arranged for two u-boxes to be delivered and picked-up on specific days. They called me and wanted to deliver two days early and pick-up two days late. "Lady" on the phone responded that she was not told and it was not her problem. I ended up hiring movers.U-boxes were absolutely beat up at storage facility! The locks I purchased had rubber coating that was completely destroyed! They also screwed the boxes shut without telling me and I had no way to open the boxes until I purchased a tool kit.They have a complete lack of respect that they are handling important belongings! My desk, tv stand were damaged beyond repair. My dresser and a table required a lot of repair.

Sorr I just had the worst experience I have ever encountered with an employee at The U Haul Hendersonville off of old shackle. We are in the process of moving my 60 year old mother across the country and were inquiring about a truck/insurance/dolly's/things associated with moving. Aside from being very unhelpful about these things, the young employee Dillon was very rude to my mother. We asked the other employee to help us because of Dillons unwillingness to assist. The other employee refused and even refused to give us his name. The employees very gladly gave us their boss's informations exclaiming he would not care nor do anything about it, that they dealt with "people like us" all the time. When leaving Dillon yelled to me that I need to "keep my mother on a leash" I am ashamed to say at this point I did step up to Dillon and confront him on his words. To which he promptly headed for the back office. His unnamed coworker stepped up to me and told me he was going to call the cops. We have contacted the regional president to assist us in resolving this issue and I hope he follows up on his word to do so. I'm not one to post rants I had just never been spoken to like that by an employee anywhere ever before, because I am an extremely civil person and am very respecting of others especially in a place of business.

We were able to purchase boxes for moving here, unfortunately they did not take they back (if you don't use them in original condition, as they were), despite our receipt stating so. There was no sign, or admission to the deviation of normal policy. They used the Corona-19 virus as an excuse to us on 04/08/2020. Talking with Corporate at 800-269-6737 (David), we learned there were NO policies in place from March 31, 2020 to when we desired to return the boxes on 04/08/2020. Shame on you guys! Ha Ha, our call to corporate resulted in a FULL REFUND for our entire purchase of 03/31/2020. I would definitely NOT recommend this establishment for boxes or moving. Again, SHAME ON YOU!

The U-Haul box delivery company destroyed our mailboxes upon delivery and just left the scene like nothing happened. We then brought to the attention of the local location and the refused to return our calls. Eventually we went through the "big u-haul" to make a claim and they found we had insufficient evidence to prove they did it... so if you have boxes delivered by then make sure you video them from start to finish because that makes sense. Overall very disappointed and would never use them again or recommend their services.

The U-haul driver crushed down my mail box during delivery of my U-boxes, while I was home. The driver said she didn't do it and company refused to pay to fix the mailbox "due to lack of evidence".... NEVER do business with these people

Uhaul moving help is a scam! I placed my order only to be told by the movers hours later they were not available. I went to the site and immediately canceled the order. It's been over a week and no refund. It was difficult to contact them and once I did I was told that once my funds are available in some account they have for me, I can then request a refund. This is absurd. I have to spend so much time just to get my money back for a service they can't provide? Horrible operation and customer service. This is for the mover help only. I've been to the uhaul location here in Hendersonville and the people were nice and helpful. I wrongly assumed their moving help would be the same. Save your money and hire a mover directly! 0 stars for moving help, scam!
