About Bakers Grove Trailhead
Bakers Grove Trailhead offers a variety of trails suitable for different outdoor activities. The Volunteer Trail is about 5.5 miles out-and-back, making it an 11-mile round trip, while the paved Couchville Lake Trail is a shorter, 2-mile loop. The trails are well marked and considered beautiful and intermediate, with some sections that are flat but feature rocks and roots to keep the hike interesting. Visitors should wear good shoes and bring water, as the trails are not paved and can be slick when wet. The area is home to diverse wildlife, including deer, a fox, and a copperhead snake. However, some visitors have raised concerns about ticks, which are abundant along the Volunteer Trail after about 2-3 miles, with reports of multiple ticks on hikers. Overall, the trails provide a scenic and engaging experience, but caution is advised regarding ticks, trail conditions, and weather. Amenities include a porta-potty at the parking lot.

Great easy technical trail runs. Really flat with rocks/roots to keep it interesting. Both the day loop and the Volunteer Trail are fun but obviously limited in the mileage they offer. Trails can be pretty slick when wet so beware. There is a Porto at the parking lot but no potable water.

Beautiful intermediate trails that are well marked. Caution for first time hikers: These 2 trails are not paved. Make sure to wear good shoes and bring something to drink. Keep in mind the Volunteer trail is a 5.5 mile out-and-back making it 11 miles total.*The paved 2 mile loop is Couchville Lake Trail

Great trail, not necessarily spectacular views, but it's a nice hike for exercise and just getting outside
