However, I must shout out one of the employees there, Josh, for being very kind and going out of his way to be helpful - without my even asking him. I had bought windshield wipers in the store and was about to attempt replacing wipers - something I’d never done before, but the rubber part of one of my wipers had torn apart a few minutes prior and it was forecast to rain, beginning at any time, so it had to be done - I just had no idea how.
Actually I was outside stuck in the process of getting the old wipers off, when Josh appeared. He had driven up and was getting out of a vehicle when I recognized him, as he has helped me in the store before. I did not say a word. He just walked over and asked if he could help me, which he did by replacing the wipers and also patiently teaching me the process, so I’d know how if I needed to.
As he started helping me, I asked him if he was “on the clock” because he had just driven up and he assured me he was and that he was doing deliveries. Making deliveries was his job today - not helping someone outside in a parking lot replace windshield wipers before the rain started. However, what he did was see me holding windshield wipers not knowing where to begin and he sincerely asked “can I help?” Josh’s friendliness and graciousness and his willingness to help where he saw a need, not even knowing the circumstances, is the epitome of what I would want in an employee - and, as a customer, I’m grateful for him!”
