Very pleased. Make sure you call before you go to get to the right place because Google hasn't updated the map.

I drove in alone from the Virginia coast and kept feeling/hearing something strange whenever I pressed the accelerator. By the time I rolled into Johnson City I knew something was seriously wrong with my Jetta. With only 2 days in town on this Memorial week, I thought my trip to TN was a total bust. I was so relieved when I heard "get here in the next hour and we'll take a look." They not only fixed the cv boots on both sides, they did it quickly (in about 2 hours), and gave me a price I couldn't believe. My trip was salvaged, and I had a smile on my face the rest of the day. Thank you so much for being there and being fair!

I have been trusting Silcox for years with multiple vehicles and have never been disappointed with the work. Eric is straight forward and honest and will not recommend an unnecessary repair. A dealer recommended a $ 1500.00 heater blower and resister replacement. Eric was able to troubleshoot and found the filter just needed replacement $45.00.

Eric and the guys at Silcox have always been more than helpful to me and my family. On more than one occasion they have saved me a bundle of money for unnecessary repairs which were quoted by other shops. Honest and fair are my best descriptions for Silcox Automotive.

These guys have been very helpful in the past, but lately, not so much. They need new equipment at the very least. Competition is tough....

Very reasonable prices, Erik and the Silcox crew are good people. I have never had to wait to get work done and get a fast turnaround.

Completely unprofessional, rude, and expensive. I would avoid using this business for any service.

surprised by the bad reviews. We have twice taken our car here and had it repaired. He is honest and the second time we thought an expensive repair was needed it turned out to minor and he saved us a ton of money. It rare to find an honest mechanic these days

Took car in on 9/6/2010 with noises in tranny. They took it apart and supposedly repaired it and put it back together and it cost me $1100+. Still had tranny noises after they "fixed" it so I took it back to them and they then replaced a wheel bearing (which it did NOT need) and said I could pay $170 for this if I chose to, so I did, but was later sorry I did and he refused to refund my $170 by that time. 2 years and 7000 miles later, my tranny whining noises seem louder, after they told me they would quiet down after a while (it's been over 2 years since they worked on my tranny). He said "all transmissions make noise" and I felt as if he was trying to pass the blame on to something else, rather than take responsibility for his poor work. I'm now in the process of having the tranny checked out by PROFESSIONAL transmission repair people and I may have to spend another $1000 to get my tranny fixed the way it's supposed to be fixed. Silcox Automotive CALL themselves a transmission shop but people I have spoken to today say that they do not specialize in transmission work, and I, for one, would not recommend Silcox Automotive to anyone with transmission trouble. Because of them, I'm out $1270 and I need to spend about $1000 more to get the tranny right. This is one place I know I will not return to. Update : I had Mr Transmission fix my tranny right. Silcox thought it was OK to have it making noise, but it was ruining my differential bearing. Silcox didn't know enough to replace my differential bearings. Mr Tranny did (for $889), and now my car tranny is quiet again. I'm out $1300 because of Silcox Automotive. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They failed me -- $1300 worth.
