I have a commercial account in Candler, North Carolina and the folks that run that budget are fantastic! We were doing a job in Tennessee so we picked up our truck and candler and returned it two days later to Knoxville. When I returned the truck I went to the desk to get my deposit back. The lady working at the desk took my credit card and then informed me that my rate was wrong. The $302 I paid was not enough. She charged me $474 additional dollars for the same contract that was promised at $302. I asked her to call candler and she said that I could do that. I said okay I will just don't charge my card the extra until we talk. Unfortunately she already charged it without my authorization. While I was questioning the manager another customer came up to the desk and basically told me to be quiet and let him handle his check out. So the manager basically let this customer accost me and did not resolve my problem. This budget is absolutely terrible you cannot trust them and you would do well to go somewhere else.

DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. The women who owns the place is absolutely HORRIBLE to her customers. Basically told us that she wasn’t going to accept our truck back because she didn’t feel like dealing with it today. Said we could try coming back tomorrow. I will never be renting from budget again, but ESPECIALLY not from this location.

Has a reservation to pick up a car at 9:00 AM. Rick calls me 30 minutes before to inform no cars are available. Says they overbook "all the time." Oh, and he can't cancel my prepaid reservation, but here's an 800 number that you can fight through Budget's electronic tree to get to a human.

I rented a truck in Knoxville Tn on 08/30, prepaid online. when I got there they made me pay an additional 250.00 until I brought it back but won't get that money back for up to 10 days. I didn't have a ride the following day to go drop it off and that location on Kingston Pike didn't allow you to drop it off after hours. so I talked to them and they advised I could drop it off at McGhee Tyson Airport just a few minutes away and they stayed open until midnight. so I took it and dropped it off the same day as I rented it before midnight. when I woke I received an email showing my receipt for rental. I noticed it was 100.00 more than it should be. So I called customer service and they advised that they charged me 100.00 for dropping it off at a different location even though that location I rented it from doesn't have after hours drop off. Never rent from Budget rental in Knoxville on Kingston Pike or any other location.

Great experience. I had rented a truck from another location in town. Unfortunately that other location couldn’t provide the trucks as they were down for maintenance.Rick called and was able to work with me to find the truck I needed. Although it took a few days and fortunately I had a flexible schedule, I was able to get the truck I needed. This location provided reasonable and satisfactory service given the circumstances. I will return next time I need a truck.

This place should not be in business and does not even deserve 1 star. I had intended to rent a truck yesterday as I had reserved one a couple weeks ago. I received a few confirmations including a confirmation Sunday morning. At 3pm Sunday afternoon they called to tell me they do not have the truck i reserved and intended to pick up 8:30am the next day. This created a lot of challenges for me and very unprofessional. This cost me a lot of money to resolve at the last minute and I will be taking this up with Budget. Budget overall is not better. They escalated my request for a truck at 3:30 pm Sunday and as of today, Tuesday morning, I have yet to hear back on whether they found a truck. UNBELIEVABLE.

I wanted to let everyone know that the Knoxville Budget location was very accommodating and helpful when it came to my reservation that I had. Even during a horrible storm that came through Knoxville the owner was able to help me out and put me at ease with my situation. Thank you!

Would give zero stars if possible. Made a reservation for a rental. An hour before the pickup time, I get a voicemail that they have no cars available. Same thing that has happened to multiple other people (see other reviews). Don't bother with this place, you probably will get screwed in the same way.

Made my reservations well ahead of time. They send confirmation, emails, etc., telling me it's all good. 20 minutes before pickup time, they call and say, "sorry, car is not available." Vacation booked, to leave tomorrow, and not only at this location, but no where even remotely close does a huge care rental place have a car. Of course, no one else has rental cars at this late date (I could, of course, lose 2 days of my vacation and pick it up Monday!). What a horrible way to treat paying customers. And, oh, BTW, we took our money from your card, but it will be 5-10 business days before we refund it! They must have a side business hustling folks out of their money for a couple of weeks to improve their cash flow. Grrrr....never, ever use these folks.

Highly dissatisfied with budget truck and their customer service. Firstly, the online price and the price we paid upon pick up were two vastly different amounts. However, it was too late for us to seek other options. We paid for moving blankets but did not receive them. More over, we were unable to get in contact with budget for reimbursement. Next, we were charged a $200 non refundable liability fee. I was told this was not Optional; however, later research deemed that it was. Lastly, upon drop off, I was charged an additional $60. There was no damage to the truck, it was returned cleaned a day early and filled with gas. I attempted to contact budget yet again to see why I was charged this random $60; however, it is impossible to get a live representative on the phone. Long story short, do not recommend.

I paid for a large SUV but was given a tiny one. smaller than a car as far as space. trunk was a joke i could fit 4 regular size bags in there. not suitcase size, like Walmart bags. I was charged 29$ plus 16$ for insurance which doesn't make sense that's not the prices. the doors didn't even open but halfway so had to squeeze in and to get stuff in. should be simple to put a 32 inch tv in but because of doors it took a struggle and couldn't turn sideways because space and door in way. no floor mats. car was gross. paid almost 300$ for a LARGE SUV and ended up having to throw 3/4 of my stuff away. only space was bagseat which was NOT spacious and passenger seat and floorboard. needing a rental now but even such bad experience I'd pay extra somewhere else because was screwed regardless

The worst place to rent a truck!!! I first reserved a truck and they then called and said that they were booked up, so I called customer service to make sure I wasn’t billed and they looked for me a truck. They mentioned the same dealer and I told them that they were booked. Customer service said that they was not and I told them to call them first. I was then put on a 15 minute hold and they returned saying that the dealer would not answer their phone but that they checked truck numbers to reservations and that they did have a truck available. I said ok and continued to book again. When I arrived at the budget rental they said that they did not have one, based on their reviews they continuously do this. My rental was an in town and my guess is that they hold onto trucks for higher priced rentals and turn away who they want. Pathetic people and business. Pay the extra for a more reputable company

Literally booked a van but couldn't get in touch with the location to adjust my pickup time. They gave the van away apparently without any update or anything. I talked to customer service and everything and they also weren't much help. Legitimately left me high and dry with a "Sorry"

They have a night drop off. This location needs to update their profile with customer service so it’s listed. Customer service thinks that non of the Knoxville locations have after hours drop off.8014 Kingston pike, Knoxville Tn has after hours drop off.This not being known was a rather large inconvenience for me personally. Could have saved an associate of mine an hour’s drive.

Reserved an "available" truck and went in early to pickup if possible. Not only was it suddenly NOT available even for our reservation time, but we were told to cancel the reservation ourselves or we'd be charged as a no show!!! How is that for customer service??!! So we had to waste time canceling for something that wasn't our fault while looking for another truck. I get that staff and vehicles can be in shortage but availability online should either be kept current or site updated to say call only... will not be using budget truck rental again.
