This happened four years ago but I just thought it was so bizarre. And I have to say pretty much all of the older male employees treated people this way. I went In this store on cedar lane late one night, around 9 pm. We just got a few things. Maybe $15 worth of stuff on our way home. My husband was on his way to check out and I was in need of a new deodorant and since we we're typically busy until late in the day with one of our 3 jobs, I figured now was a good time to go ahead and pick it up. Their hygiene isle is in the middle of the store. The cashier and my husband were maybe 10-15 feet away and could be seen by the entire front of the store. I picked up one bottle of an aerosol deodorant and sprayed it for about 2 seconds on my arm, but it was like a generic Axe for women and it smelled terrible. This manager comes running from the front screaming, you have to pay for that! That's theft! By this time my husband was already checking out and I just couldn't believe this. It was definitely not just in my head - this 'manager' had it in his head that we were poor, dumb, shoplifting, bums when we walked in the front door. I was actually about to grab a trusted traditional deodorant and finish checking out when he came screeching across the store. I asked him, so, how exactly am I supposed to know what this smells like if I don't spray it? He had no answer for that, just that I needed to pay for it! I guess there's no free smells at this store! So stupid it's funny years later.Haven't been in there since and have no plans to ever go there again. During this time period, I kid you not, we had a lawn care business, a home repairs business and I drove for a taxi company on weekends. And they treated us like broke trash.
