Employees were quite unhelpful and manager was rude. Didn’t have a car after my reservation was confirmed

I had a corporate rental with issues from the Nashville airport. They were the only Hertz location that was willing to help me. They called all of the local places to try to find me a vehicle that I could return to Nashville, but were unable. I didn't rent from them because they are a franchise and not a corporate location (the local Corporate location in Crossville was awful & rude) but I would if I could have. Thank you so much trying to help a traveler! As promised, here is your positive review!

The rental car was great. The return and customer service are bad. They charged me $250 for a pet fee. No animals where ever in the car. My son had one of those fuzzy blankets that left some fuzz in the passenger seat. I call the local customer service rep and sent the requested rental number, then was ghosted. Tried calling her back and texted with no response. Called corporate customer care. They took my claim and said they would contact me in 5 business day, once again ghosted. They really don't care. If I had a dog in the car for over 2,000 miles the whole car would have dog hair, not just fuzz in the passenger seat.

Three locations in Knoxville and none of the locations had a car for us to rent in an urgent situation. My husband has been a gold member for a very long time. We were told to get a ride to the first location where they were supposed to have cars. None available. Very stressful being stranded in town hours from home and/or our destination. Very disappointed in Hertz of Knoxville.

We had the worst experience. We signed up for the rental with all the information and paid the price in full ($218). My husband and I rented the car and although it was in his name, we were both present to sign and pick it up and were never told that I couldn't drive it as well. I drove it while he had to meet someone for a total of 15 or 20 minutes with no issues. Then when we dropped if off again, they billed our card for over 100% of what we already paid for the 6 day rental ($231). They added on a $150 unauthorized driver fee even though they never told us that spouses couldn't drive it. They also added on other random fees that made no sense. I tried to talk to the guy at the counter about it and he said I had to get in touch with the manager. I called multiple times and left voicemails and sent emails with no response. They were such a scam.

The lady at the counter was RUDE. I wasn’t informed that the vehicle type I reserved was available which was an SUV until she took me to the parking lot and gave me a minivan that had damage to it and was at half a tank of gas instead of the full tank listed which I have to return it with. I asked about my reservation and she simply said I don’t have one but a minivan has the same amount of seating. I reserved ahead of time and there are two other Hertz locations in town- I just reserved at the one closest to me so you would assume that if the system lets you reserve a type at that location it would be a available or they would have moved one from one of the other locations to accommodate or at least contact me ahead of time. I rent fairly often if traveling so I don’t put wear and tear on my own car and I will never rent from hertz again

We was getting the run around from rental places all around until my wife called and talked to a lady who went above and beyond To find what we wanted even if it was from another location. Needless to say this is the location we will work with.

I reserved a minivan a month before I needed it. When I got there they didn't have a minivan because the one I reserved needed an oil change. Someone walked in to return a van as I was standing there, Because she had just rented it and she said she didn't want it because one if the features didn't work. I took the van because I was in a bind and needed it! It was filthy and while I was on my trip the checkout light came on! I returned the van on the correct date which was March 19, 2022 yet the local store has not closed it yet and I keep getting calls from Hertz corporate asking me to return the van. The seven Oaks store does not answer their phone and he's not responding to emails from corporate! Every day this week I am getting a $92 charge on my American Express because they haven't close the account

The Hertz Seven Oaks location is really one of the worst I've been to. I had reserved a 'Premium' line rental car for which they gave me a Ford Fusion which, according to Hertz's own list of rental cars, does not qualify as a 'Premium' but rather a Full Size. Hertz defines a 'Premium' as a Chevy Impala or Ford Taurus, or in the past, a Buick Regal. But, I was fine with it and he gave me the key and I walked out to a pretty poor looking Fusion with, not only some scratches, but some sticker residue or tar on the passenger side. Again, not deterred until I opened the door to smell smoke wafting from inside. It was bad. I think they tried to mask it as best they could, but it was really, really bad and being asthmatic, I wouldn't last very long with that smell. The interior, overall, wasn't the cleanest either. So, back inside and what do you know, there was not one other car they could give me, so I had to leave with no rental. Very frustrating. Hertz used to be the gold standard in rentals, but not anymore. They've gone seriously downhill since filing bankruptcy. By the way, the manager did void out the reservation, but didn't even have the courtesy to come to the front desk to apologize. I think they knew the issue with the car - they didn't even feign surprise when I told them, so I can't recommend this location.

Rented a car here for the 4th of July. When I went to pick it up, the attendant informed me that the car arrived late the previous night and had not been cleaned. I indicated that we were in a hurry and I would take it as is. At the time, it did not even seem that dirty. Upon the return of the vehicle, I was returned the keys and instructed to go and clean the car to avoid a $500 cleaning charge. I inquired as to what the problem was as the car was not that dirty except for some chips that my son ate in the back seat. The attendant told me that we had smoked and that there were pet hairs. I informed the attendant that none of us smoke and we only have cats who do not travel with us. I refused to clean the car based on principle. The attendant told me that if I didn't clean the car that he would have to since their cleaner did not show up for work. Now it all makes sense. If you rent a car here make sure to take pictures and get a written statement from the attendant if there is even the subtle scent of a cigarette. BTW, I disputed with the corporate office and was returned my money since it appears that management had similar previous issues.
