Only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the two times I've been in the store the young female associates are always so sweet to me. My second time in today I was stalked by a wannabe mall cop who was very bad at pretending to be another shopper. Untucked his damn pistol from under his jacket like an unprofessional weirdo. Thinking I didn't realize that he was likely pegging me as a shop lifter. Guess a girl can't walk around making decisions on work shirts and purses anymore in a thrift store without the possibility of deadly force needed LOL.

Found a jacket with no price; when taking it to the front for pricing they pulled it up on eBay and said they could not sell it less than the eBay price. This is a thrift store that helps the mission. I’m not sure how making prices astronomical is helping people afford clothes

Its a shame to see a charity shop so greedy. They charge at or above retail prices for pretty much everything with a value over $10. I know they want to maximize profit for their mission, but the shelves are packed with overpriced items that sit for months. Going forward, I am taking my donations and business the extra 15 minutes to Amvets. With their fair prices, I feel that they do a good job of supporting the community AND their mission, rather than exploiting the community FOR their mission.

I just left Knox Area Rescue Ministries remote drop off and they sure do make it so easy to donate your items to a worthy cause. If you need a receipt for a tax deduction they will give you a form to fill out for your drop off items. All you have to do is go around to the right rear side and ring the bell and they'll have a cart waiting for you to load your contributions inSo easy!!!

I KNOW They say they help people but so do other thrift shops who has a lot better prices I recommend buying and donating from these other thrift shops that aren't so money hungry think of what a thrift shop should be they can tell you thier non profit but that means after all thier salaries are paid out yes many make over 100000 a year some more like 300000 . Anything they do to give the homeless is the bottom of the barrel if it's nike t-shirt they want that $ 15 let's help the businesses that wanna help us in return that's my option

They do have dressing rooms, so that's good. But still, you can't bring anything back for return if you change your mind.

As a new resident on TN, I was unfamiliar with Karma stores until recently. I was told and followed up on their in store mission statement etc., that Karma is a store mainly open to help the homeless, and people who are struggling financially. They receive donated items free of charge, then are supposed to take those items and sell them at affordable prices to those who find themselves in tough times financially, perhaps due to loss of employment, or this entire Covid fiasco, or perhaps even worse, have ended up homeless because of these issues. Unfortunately I'm in that terrible place as of now, struggling to pull myself out of it.So I went to Karms to buy purchase a fee items of clothing. I had 2 GIFT CARDS, one that was purchased by a loved one for me, the other one that I scraped together all I could and purchased with the intent of using in the near future.Upon entering Karma at Mountain Grove Drive Knoxville, right next to the Lowes and Food City, I first found that the clothes were ALL overpriced!! At the salvation army store, a pair of used mens jeans can be purchased for as little as $3 dollars, or up to $5 or $6 dollars for a nicer pair of USED jeans. At Karms? The LOWEST jeans were priced at $10 dollars and up!! Old used shirts were $8 and $10 bucks each!! I may as well just go to WalMart, where new pants can be bought for $15 and new shirts for $5 / $10 dollars. NEW. (Obviously) BUT after finding out ALL Karms prices were outrageously HIGH for donated, used clothes they got for free, supposedly to help the homeless and others, it was to late for me to buy at Walmart, because all my money was used to buy the Karms gift cards. After shopping fir what seemed forever, trying to find something lower priced, which I could not, I took my selection of $40 of clothes to the register to check out. They were over priced but at least I'd have some pants without holes in them. The woman rang up my items, and I proceeded to pay. And she looks down at me from her raised platform and says, "These gift cards are no good, they have EXPIRED"!!! Wait... What??? Expired?? These cards were bought with cash! Cash gift cards do not expire ANYWHERE, in ANY STORE. "These cards are both expired, you'll need to use another form of payment"... Again, What??? I told the cashier that to expire a gift card is basically like stealing peoples cash money. NOBODY, I repeat NO businesses sell gift cards that expire!Long story short, she kept one of my cards to "throw it away for me", the other I hung onto. Well, being homeless without a penny, to have my gift cards "thrown out" and Karms keeping the little money I had that I trusted them with, I couldn't believe it. So, I left the store empty handed, without even an apology from the woman working there. Nothing. Just, "These are no good, use another form of payment"...And THAT is my experience at this thieving store called Karms. A store that says it helps the unfortunate and those in times of need, but then steals your money via gift cards you bought with cash.. This is got to be one of the most unethical businesses and business practices I've ever been hit with in my 60+ senior years. A store claiming it's a "Christian" organization to help others, who sells gift cards that they expire and they keep your money. Lastly: When I explained how unethical a practice this was, and asked if I could just a refund for the amount I paid for the gift cards, the cashier just stared at me, and finally said "No, of course not! THEY ARE EXPIRED... That means they are no longer ANY GOOD"And that was that. Sorry for the ling winded rant, but I truly think everyone should know just how corrupt a practice like that is. Essentially stealing peoples money. And for some of us, who the store claims they cater to, scraping together $40 or $50 dollars just to have it stolen out from underneath you, might as well be $1000.00 dollars to someone in a normal situation.I just couldn't believe they would take that mon

The store was clean and well-organized, and the staff was very helpful (except for a cranky 50-60ish gentleman who may have been having a bad day).
