Very disappointed in this location. I ordered a moving kit roughly a month ago. Everything I put in the cart was in stock when I ordered it. I picked up my order today and the owner told me that she ran out of large TV boxes. What she meant to say is that she gave the one I ordered that was in stock to someone else. She did offer to call one other location to see if they had one. They did not have one and she just said she was sorry. This really left us in a bind because our movers come tomorrow and there is no time to go tracking down the box we need. This mistake or lapse of judgment on the owners behalf may have just cost me a $1,200 TV. When people order something a month in advance and it says it's in stock, it should be held for that order. I would suggest getting your supplies from somewhere else

This is a long story but I am going to try and keep it short. I debated even wasting my time as they did (2 1/2 hrs) but I think others should know. I have dealt with this location for years and I assume they had some management changes. I had wiring for a trailer installed a few years ago and I recently sold the SUV and purchased the same model just a newer one. I took the wiring out of the vehicle I traded and went to the store and asked them what it would cost, and to make sure they could, install the wiring in the new vehicle. They took the Curtis box and wiring back to the installer to make sure, they came back and gave me a price. I had to reschedule the appointment. I showed up for the install and I clarified with them that the email I received had the incorrect price and they verified that it did. They presented me with a statement to sign and the installation charge was more than what I had been quoted twice. I think most people wouldn't be happy with bait and switch practices. They explained that is the price if it takes longer it could cost that much, then they took it back to the installer and he verified it would be the higher fee. I ask them what kind of outfit they were and that this was ridiculous. The person helping me, who was very nice, ask if I would like to see the manager. A young woman came out and she told me that was the price and they didn't like being insulted and bullied. She then told me they wouldn't install it. I ask for her manager's name and phone number. To put an end to this story, he ask me to go to the West Town location and they would install it at a reduced fee. I arrived at the other location and nobody admitted talking to the district manager. They stood around my car like they didn't know what they were doing and they obviously didn't. After further research on my part I realized they didn't properly install it the first time. The moral of the story don't waste your time with either the Farragut or West Town location they will just waste your time and lie to you. I would recommend instead you go to Bob Kidd Hitch & Tire Services in Maryville. They are professional, knowledgeable and more reasonably priced than U-Haul.

As I walked through the doors of the store one of the two attendants behind the counter (the one with his feet up on the desk) started snickering. The other was trying to keep a straight face. I asked if that was how they greet all their potential clients because it was clear the laugh was at my expense. Of course, they claimed innocence but it was obvious. It's unprofessional to judge a potential customers appearance, especially when they're looking at spending hundreds of dollars. I won't be back.

So I went in today to buy boxes, the small boxes I normally used to buy from U-Haul. To my surprise they now have two versions of small boxes, heavy duty and regular. At first glance this looks like a great idea. But I proceeded to notice, the regular small box has a different color than the recently purchased small boxes I used to buy, the heavy duty now are the old boxes I used to buy in a bundle. I really like the old boxes because they were sturdy and reliable but the general manager, Heather Sturgill, informed me they no longer sell the heavy duty in bundles and I noticed they were quite a bit more expensive, substantially more in price than what they used to be. So I just stated an observational fact that U-Haul is charging more for what they used to offer and providing a lesser product for the same price with the regular small size. My statement was just that, a statement. There were no other customers around it was just me and the general manager. I wasn't arguing, I wasn't complaining or making it personal with the employee in front of me, I wasn't saying get me a better deal or else, I wasn't stomping my feet, I was just making an astute observation verbally. Instead of taking that as a matter of fact statement, Heather takes it all personal. Ms. Sturgill, the general manager precedes to get all rude and nasty and says this exactly, "I have an idea, why don't you take your business and go down to the other U-Haul and see if they have what you're looking for. " I asked Heather would the other U-Haul solve my problem and sell the heavy duty boxes in bundles? and she said no. I was okay with paying more if I could get a discount by buying them in a bundle and would travel a little bit to get what I was looking for. (Buying them individually versus in a bundle cost a lot more.) So in effect she was just being a snarky beech. I said I'll just take the regular boxes since you don't sell the heavy duty in bundles, while picking up my jaw off the floor. Completely unprofessional especially coming from a general manager of a U-Haul store. She couldn't just shake her head and say, well that's inflation unfortunately or yeah, I understand, or something in the effect of well it is what it is, or something proactive like, U-Haul is providing more choices for our customers and these are the options we have now or said nothing and accepted my credit card anyways? If you hate your job so much that you got to treat your customers with such disdain I would suggest quitting and finding a better job. I honestly can't remember ever being treated so nasty from an employee, and a general manager, no less. This is the third time within a year from different locations of U-Haul I've been treated with such unprofessionalism. I think the problem is systemic and starts from the corporate offices and bleeds its way down to every employee. Bottom line if you want a pleasant customer experience avoid U-Haul at all cost, if you can. I know sometimes we can't so just proceed to go in gritting your teeth and expect the worst because lately the odds are, you'll get it.

I'll never use this uhaul location again. Every time I use this uhaul location my credit card info gets stolen/sold. The same thing happened to a coworker as well. Too much to just be a coincidence. They know if you're renting a uhaul you are in a state of transition and they have a window to use your credit card with you being distracted with moving.

Bonnie or whatever her name is, is the owner(at least thats what her name tag said). She was the one who assisted me in my purchase today. She was very unprofessional and was extremely rude and condescending while talking to her customers. Even whispering to the female employee next to her and them both giggling, while blatantly doing so in front of me. She also has VERY LITTLE knowledge of her own business, and again, got rude when she couldn't figure out how her business ran. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and if you want or need to go to this place, just take a hammer and hit yourself in the naughty bits instead. It will be a better outcome than what you'll experience here.

The nicest, easiest, friendliest U-Haul I have ever used. It makes a difference when you are stressed moving and you deal with nice people that are capable.

The good folks here provide great service and product availability is usually good.Waste Management needs to empty the dumpster more often, corporate adds a hidden $1 environmental fee and they might be altering the odometer (I'll double check next time).

Trying to book online did not work out as U-Haul kept screwing things up. Wrong truck size, wrong extras, etc. Wife and I gave up and visited in person. Staff there made everything right. No hassle pickup or drop off. Cheers to the Farragut crew. I still owe them doughnuts ;)

I reserved a trailer at this location before driving up from FL to pickup a car in Knoxville I had purchased. When I attempted to pickup the car trailer, I was told they didn't have any car trailers. They checked the computer and said that someone had called me the day before and told me the pickup location had changed. It was a complete LIE. No one had called me and I had to drive 25 miles BACK from the direction I came to get the trailer from another location. The manager even scoffed at me when I told him very clearly that no one had called me. If I could give a ZERO on rating I would. The lazy people at this location cost me an extra 50 mile drive and nearly 2 hours delay in my already long trip from FL to Knoxville and back to FL!

I rented a cargo van but they overbooked and gave me a larger van for the same price. Normally I would be annoyed because it's harder to drive but fortunately I only had to make one trip instead of two, it worked out perfectly.

I needed to rent a van last minute(I knew about 18 hours in advance) so I called this location and asked to speak to the manager due to having not such great experiences in the past at other locations. The manager, Roger Thompson, was incredibly helpful! He walked me through the process of booking online so I could upload my ID and everything needed so when I arrived all I had to do was get my rental! This was probably my best experience with a vehicle rental company ever! I am shocked the location has so many negative comments and I’m more shocked someone called the manager creepy. Roger was incredibly kind and personable towards me and not creepy at all. However this day an age plenty of people call men creepy for the most arbitrary things.? Steven and Heather were also incredibly polite. I would recommend this location to anyone. I would assume most the negative reviews stem from people who were not prepared when they arrived to pick up their rental, screwed something up during the duration or their rental, or did not honor their agreement about all things that must be done when the vehicle is dropped off-such as returning to the vehicle with as much gas as it had in it when they picked it up. Given the experience I had and the service I saw those around me receiving I cannot fathom the other negative reviews even having taken place at this location unless the person renting the vehicle was the problem. I would absolutely use this location and make sure you are prepared, understand your agreement and ask questions if you have them. Do those two things and I can’t imagine you wouldn’t have an absolutely stellar experience!
