“This was my first time at a Five Below and to be honest, I don't even know why it's called that considering there are items that are way above $5. The store itself is clean and bright, very well organized, too. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Maybe I'm not the target audience for Five Below but there seems to be a lot of junk sold here. Sure, there are pop culture items, Legos, etc., but so much feels like stuff you'd find at a discount store that couldn't sell in big-name stores. I did find some things for my classroom like stickers and a breathing ball, but overall, it's just stuff and overpriced stuff as it is.”
Dollar General opened its 20,000th U.S. store on February 24th in Alice, Texas. It’s a major milestone for the discount chain that started as one small general store back in 1955. Starting with a ribbon cutting ceremony, the grand opening celebration began at 9am. First customers received some freebies - tote bags filled with free product samples and snacks from DG's Clover Valley brand.
