ATFCU failed to process a requested wire transfer of funds. They claimed they could not contact the intended recipient, a company with over 200 locations nationwide, that is part of a global company. Really? ATFCU flagged the wire transfer as potentially fraudulent. The company is completely legitimate and the wire transfer was a legitimate transaction. I have visited the corporate headquarters of the company and spent time with the president and the VPs. ATFCU did not contact me, the sender, about their determination that the transaction was possibly fraudulent. After 12 days, the intended recipient told me they had not received the funds. I visited the main office of ATFCU. It took a while for them to research what happened. Fortunately, the wire transfer was not time sensitive in this case. I chose to request my wire transfer at another bank, a larger, national bank. The goal of ATFCU is to protect their customers from sending funds to fraudulent recipients. This is a worthy goal. However, they seem to be a bit overzealous, deciding what their customers should do with their own money. They seem to treat everyone as a simpleton who can't think for himself. They should involve the customer in the investigation process to determine the legitimacy of the transaction. They should treat the customer as someone who has value and is capable of making a good decision when enough information is known. There are plenty of legitimate wire transfers that occur every day. ATFCU should not punish the customers who have legitimate transactions. Throughout the process, I was treated as someone who is not smart enough to think for myself, though I'm an accomplished person. They could have at least informed me of their decision so I could take action as necessary. My recommendation is don't request wire transfers from ATFCU, if you have another choice. A larger, national bank is a much wiser choice for wire transfers.

Nice enough people but services offered are lacking at best. In desperate need to modernize. No Zelle, Venmo and other modern pay applications available. Still charge fees to transfer money from your account to another bank and limit the amount to $500. Easy access to one's own money is not available here. Pretty much need to live close to a branch and ensure your banking needs are during banking hours. Like I said, the employees are nice enough but the services are something akin to 2003.

They're was once a day where credit unions stood apart from the large banks. They were banks that were ran on individual circumstances not cold black and white policy. The bankers used to have the best interest of their customers in mind. This bank only cares about the bottom line and assesing fees to their customers to make money, instead of using the community of citizens' money to make investments in order to gain profits. Please look elsewhere for a bank that has the best interest of you in mind.

My husband has a truck loan through them and a savings account. However to be able to pay his payment that I have been paying for a year now with no problem, they all of a sudden stopped taking payments from me because my I'd didnt match my debit card. So I went and got that switched over and we went to put me on his accounts and open a checking but then they said they couldnt use the paper id. Well we went to alcoa branch and had no problems. This is the worst branch and their very rude. Will never do my business at this location... alcoa branch is much nicer and helpful...
