Billing department is undoubtedly the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Don’t bother asking for an itemized bill or they’ll take 2 weeks to get it to you, and then when you contact them to make the payment, suddenly noone knows about your newly calculated total, leaving you to have to pay the original balance just so you can get the payment made on time and avoid them sending the bill collectors after you (which they do immediately, by the way). Entire experience is absolutely miserable. You call and get passed around to 5 or 6 different phone numbers, and you still don’t get the answers you need. To anyone reading this and considering using Blount memorial’s services, do yourself a favor and just go to one of the hospitals in Knoxville. Ridiculous.

The reviews are right avoid this hospital by all means. Wife was in a bad car accident and we checked in 6:10pm. 11:35pm I asked the front desk if my wife could take ibuprofen for the pain and they said they forgot about her and asked if she had an xray yet. You should know this since you schedule them. Then sent her back outside to wait further. Poorly organized and horribly run hospital. Anywhere else is better than this.

If you go to the ER and get the nurse named Kevin ask for someone else! He was beyond rude and cocky the whole time. I waited for over an hour to get my prescription from him and he walked by me several times and towards the end of my hour wait I could hear him talking to other nurses about how much he likes chance the rapper?!?! While I’m sick it’s 11pm and I’m ready to go home after being there for 6 hours. Super unprofessional and overall rude.

They love to bill your insurance then try to charge you extra and send you to collections even if you set up automatic payment plans for each separate bill they give! Dirty dirty business! Don’t trust them!

Good advise to all. Have video and audio when nurse's and doctors come into your room. They have a bad problem with doing the job they get paid for and lying about you.

I have always had such a great experience here from outpatient visits, specialist, and ER visits. Everyone is extremely friendly and always goes out of their way to help you. It is a very clean facility. All the doctors and staff are very professional and efficient. Highly recommend!

ER department was top notch after my husband's accident at work. Taken back quickly, great communication, and excellent after care instructions. My only complaint is that parking can be a little difficult. But we would absolutely come back here, especially at the ER. Many thanks.

My brother in law has been in a family waiting room off the ED for about 3 to 4 hours with no update on my sister who was brought in in critical condition. The rest of the family is in Georgia and are on their way. I am an RN, and "the doctor will be in" is NOT an acceptable update for this period of time! Compassion people, get some and show some.

I visited Blount Memorial Hospital Outpatient center.I was referred to Blount Memorial by Well Key Urgent Care on 3/14/23. I was having severe back pain and Well Key sent me to Blount Memorial for the x-ray since they did not have an x-ray technician on site. Well Key advised that I could go directly to Blount Memorial to the outpatient department and my x-ray should be quick.I arrived at Blount Memorial and entered through the outpatient area but there was no one at the desk. I walked over to the ER intake and inquired what I should do and provided my paperwork. The lady looked at my paperwork and sent me to registration saying that I should be registered and had to go over to registration first.I went over to registration, and they started to take my information, I set my paperwork down for the lady and she looked at it and sent me back to ER check in stating that I had to go through ER for the x-ray.What should have happened is that they should have taken my stat x-ray order and sent me for that picture and then sent me home because I was already seen by Urgent Care. I did not know this at the time and so I followed the instructions I was given.I went through ER check-in, waited for nearly three hours before someone pulled the curtain back in the waiting area and told me that I should not be there. None of the staff knew what to do. I was told that the ER had already started my visit and that could not be undone and would have to be fixed on the back end. I was told to continue through the process, and they would do the x-ray. I advised that I did not want to be billed for an ER visit and I was not okay being billed for an ER visit.I was walked back for the x-ray and after that I was seen by a physician. I was not aware that this was not the norm or of what the procedure should be. I am disputing the ER visit itself which should be taken care of by Blount Memorial Hospital as it was their staff error for not advising me correctly.I spoke to Evelyn March 16th who told me she would call me back but did not.4/5/23 spoke to Ginny who also advised someone would call me back.4/24/23 – I got something in the mail for seeing the provider AT the ER and it was only for $88, which I paid because I thought the ER visit had been adjusted/removed by Blount Memorial.4/26/23 – I logged into my Blue Shield account to see multiple charges from Blount Memorial including the ER visit itself. I called and spoke to the Blount Memorial Business office who routed me to Brian in the Blount Memorial Care Department. I left a voicemail and received a letter but have not received a phone call. The letter advised that I "presented to the emergency department with complaints of back pain." In reality, I went there asking what I should do with the referral from Well Key and their staff was irresponsible and did not advise me correctly. The letter states that no adjustments would be made to my bill. I am now disputing this with my insurance provider and will continue to call their business office to counter their determination.Their staff error should not become my financial responsibility.

We have been waiting over 2hrs with chest pain. We have seen 4 other's just walk out without being seen because of the wait. Nobody has been called back at all. It's absolutely the worse ER I've ever been to.. go to turkey creek DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT COME HERE... This is a sad place it needs to be shut down.. I honestly don't think there's even a doctor here........

Was seen in the ER tonight, and couldn’t ask for better staff. Service was prompt, efficient, and everyone was so friendly. Lindsey in ultrasound was so kind and made me feel comfortable. Dr Moody was friendly and so down to earth. Misty the Lpn was a sweetheart. I am a former employee of Blount Memorial, and I greatly appreciate the professionalism shown. Thanks so much to everyone I encountered.

I was gave birth here at their birthing center back in June. I was a little worried because of the reviews but it is such a close drive this was our best option. I had one of the best experiences at this birthing center I’ve ever had in my past pregnancies. All of nurses were sweet, comforting and just amazing ! They went above and beyond. The anesthesiologist was also very friendly. This was during the formula shortage and they made sure I was stocked up just in case I needed it when I was discharged along with any other supplies I needed. Overall amazing experience.

Husband had surgery on his back. It was not the best experience. The Dr was great but the nurses....especially Pam from the south building, 5th floor. She was rude. She's didn't want to deal with the family at all. She didn't show me anything about the catherter or tell me anything. When I spoke to her, she would ignore me, never make eye contact, only deal with my husband and he was on meds that made him sleep.

My father has been admitted to BMH for over a month from Covid complications. He has been in SICU for several days/weeks and the nursing staff has been incredible (for the most part) very communicative, helpful, and reassuring that we were doing the right things to speed his time to recovery. Alli (LPN) , Kim, and Eddy were by far the best nursing staff we've experienced. The surgeon(Dr. Budayr) that worked on my father did not come in to speak to us after his procedure or give any updates on how he did while under general anaesthesia. Also the doctor came across as being aggravated when asked additional questions outside of the benefits of the procedure.
