Outstanding medical service with caring friendy hospital staff. I found Mountain Hospital in an emergency situation. My kitty cat Scarlett, had a life threatening reaction to her yearly vaccinations at another hospital in west Maryville. They wouldn’t treat her in a timley mannor. I rushed her to the Emergency Clinic in Knoxville where they turned her around. Needing further ongoing treatment Mountain Highway Vet Hospital took her in and over the coming two weeks nursed her back to health, got her eating, hydrated and back on her feet . “Thanks for saving my life.” “Scarlett”

We recently had to make a heart wrenching decision regarding our lab. Dr. Comp and staff were very understanding, compassionate and gave our sweet boy and us the care and attention we needed. We will always be grateful.

We have went to this vet clinic for over 8 years through puppy stages, spay/neutering, and used them for additional surgeries. The staff calls and informs you how your pet is doing/did through the surgeries and calls a day or so after to check on your pet as well. They are super friendly! I work in the vetmed industry and could drive to Knoxville and get a company discount, but I've been with this practice so long as a customer I wouldn't want to leave. Zaye + Zoro have been happy pups there!

We have used Mountain Highway Vet for 15 years and have always been pleased with their services. Their staff is always friendly and caring and they provide a very comfortable atmosphere. Their prices are very reasonable and on maintenance medications they always look for the most affordable and effective products. I feel they are hands down the best!

Used Mtn hwy for 24 years ( and 3 owners). Miss Dr Bennet, but love Dr. Comp. & Dr. Fred, congrats on your retirement, but you will be greatly missed). Obviously, I trust Mtn Hwy, 100%. I drive across town, even though I have at least 5 within a short distance.

Nice ladies that shouldn't be taking care of animals. I told them plainly and directly my dog hadn't drank or ate in 3 days. I was ignored, the issue wasn't addressed, he wasn't hydrated. He continued not to eat or drink, and died two days later.

The place is horribly filthy. The prices are astronomical for the sub par care you receive. I feel like my dog was written off just because of his age.Not to mention the receptionist brings her pack of Dobermans to work and they hang out behind the desk. Not reassuring for a small, sick, anxious dog.I would never recommend this place to anyone.Edit: in response to MHV. My dog had probable cancer in his spine. His legs were weak because of that. His knees were not the issue as we were told by you. If an xray had been done we could have managed his pain. We had him put to sleep 2 days ago.

I’ve used this vet since I got my first dog Grizzly ten years ago. They have always done right by me and my pets. It’s not the most up to date or cleanest place but their hearts are in the right place and as far as pricing goes I feel like ALL vets are over priced on most services. I’ll pay it tho for my animals. They have always been here for me and my animals and I will continue to use them. All of their staff are caring and will do anything to help you out! I have never had one single problem from mountain highway vet and appreciate them so much!

I had a guinea pig with a respiratory issue and a head tilt (ear infection). Took them here and they diagnosed my guinea pig with this medicine and within LESS than a week, she died from the medicine. After research, the medicine they gave her is POISON. Very unprofessional, they said it would cure her. Don’t go to this vet for guinea pigs, they aren’t trusted!!!

The doctor is nice enough but when I took my Doberman male puppy in for a first checkup, all she kept pushing was to have him neutered. Her assistant was frightened of the breed although this was a 14 week old puppy that was passive and pleasant. Then she kept saying she couldn't find his second testicle so that would mean major surgery and cost more. She wouldn't take my explanation that his breeder wanted to possibly breed back to him and that I was not interested in neutering. Her staff even tried to schedule his surgery. I haven't gone back and by the way, both testicles dropped just fine.

Two of my dogs(both Yorkeries) went to get their teeth cleaned a few days ago. One of them made it out just fine. The one who made it out fine is a few pounds bigger than my other one. My little 4 pound yorkie was acting up though because my family thinks that she got to much medicine. They gave the same amount of medicine to my little dog as my big one because they said they were in same weight class. Apparently, when she was on her back while she was asleep during teeth cleaning she quit breathing. The vets said they put her on oxygen once she stopped breathing but I highly doubt that because my dog can’t see now, and she seems to be getting worse. A year or so earlier we had them get shots well my older and heavier dog did well, but once again my little one didn’t. She wouldn’t stop bleeding for a while, and they told us to take her to the ER vet because she was gonna bleed out. Once my dad took her to the ER vet she quit bleeding and which made my parents spend more money then they needed to. The point I am trying to get across is don’t take your dogs there. These veterinarians are inconsistent. I don’t recommend them at all! They don’t do their jobs right.
