My family chose the restaurant at RT Lodge to celebrate a special birthday. The staff was very helpful and attentive from making the reservations to serving the meal. I had the pimento cheese, pear salad, sweet potato cannelloni, and pecan banana cake. It was all amazing!! No one in our group was disappointed with their food selection. Besides the wonderful food we enjoyed walking the grounds after dinner. Overall RT Lodge was the perfect place to celebrate!

Hate to review the best kept secret in East Tennessee. This place is Willy Wonka's chocolate factory- it is magical.

Awesome tucked away spot in maryville. The restaurant is really great, on another level. Excellent bar area and outside fireplaces. We will be back!

RT cannot help their renovation process, but the noise level was such that my husband and I could not converse in the crowded temporary dining room (converted from a small living room). Fortunately, we were among the last to leave so were able to talk some with each other.

Loved the atmosphere and the service was outstanding. The cocktails were well made and presented well too. The food portions were a bit small for the price in my opinion, but the flavor and presentation was great. Of all the fine dining restaurants, this one had some the best atmosphere. Food for quality and price wasn't the highest in my personal opinion, but everything else was worth it. Will probably eat here a couple times a year at most. Overall great experience. Great flavors and service it doesn't get much better than that!

Love RT Bar area. Resturant was quiet, clean and service was great! The food on the other hand wasn't what we expected. The Fried Chickens breading was very heavy. To the point it hard to taste the chicken. The pork loin and mushrooms was more of something from a mom and pops cafe instead of from a fine dining restaurant. We been to the bar are several times and apps and bar options have always been great. Maybe the restaurant had an off night.

First time dining and I would give this place a 10/10! Hands down best dining experience for my wife and I! From the romance and comfortable home feel, to the service, we enjoyed every moment we spent at the restaurant at RT Lodge!

The people at RT Lodge provided a wonderful evening from the hostesses, to the bartenders, and especially Jody our server. We started with the smoked trout dip that was tasty, but without an over powering smoked fish taste. The scallop and pork Schnitzel entrees were excellent. I would have liked some vegetable ascent with the scallops since it included two starches. I ate the collard greens from my husband's schnitzel dish instead. These were excellent. Desserts were very creative. It was nice to have something outside of the ordinary. While the food is definitely worth returning for on it's own, it was the cozy ambience and friendliness of the staff that made for an extraordinary experience.

I am re-editing my previous review due to information that was made available to me recently that allowed me to expand my perspective, experiences, and attain a deeper understanding of the goals and motivations of the folks at RT Lodge. To put it simply, those at RT Lodge wish to make one's stay an unforgettable experience that feels like a joyous visit home each and every visit. In my humble opinion, the world would be such a better place if everyone practiced such things. That is what RT Lodge does....., they allow you to have such wonderful experiences and make such great memories that it alters your perspective(s) of the world and how people treat one another. I know that it sounds corny, but it's true. RT Lodge is such a unique place that it makes me a little sad each time I leave from there because it always feels like I'm leaving my 'happy place'. It's a place that we always look forward to visiting.Nearby activities: There are hiking trails within driving distance, as well as great views to drive to within a 15 to 20 min drive.Safety: The Lodge is very safe, as well as makes one feel as safe as being at one's own home.Walkability: There are walking trails around the lodge and a scenic college campus nearby. Downtown Maryville is within walking distance.Food & drinks: The restaurant is, by far and above, the redeeming star of RT Lodge. The food is sensational and leaves one dreaming of the next visit for the next scrumptious meal.Noteworthy details: I stand corrected: Guest experience and service are both top priorities of RT Lodge staff and management. That very point has been made evident with lengthy, clarifying, and informative conversations had with leadership and management of RT Lodge. Their attitude and desire is that they want patrons of RT Lodge to feel as if they are home, which is quite refreshing and reassuring.

Nice property in wooded area near Maryville College. Facility is in process of being upgraded, so check web site prior to deciding to dine here. Overall, a nice dining experience. Appetizer, salad, main courses, and desert were all well prepared and quite enjoyable. Servings are generous. Waitress was new to profession and in training but was energetic and a good conversationalist. Wine list was limited, so took our wine ($25 corkage fee). Overall, an enjoyable dining experience, and we look forward to dining there again once renovations are complete (probably by 4/1/2024).

Drinks and bar service excellent. Dinner service very good. Rolls were cold. We complained and got hot rolls. Appetizer of clams, excellent. Rabbit appetizer very small and couldn't taste anything. Steak was dry and tough. Sides were good. Do not believe steak was prime quality. We love the setting and ambience but may not try for a while.

Didn't realize there were so many steps. I was with 3 elderly folks. I was told later that there was an elevator. Bread service is skimpy. Small plates are a little deceiving. Maybe use words like 'small bites'. My swordfish was wonderful. Service wad good but server needed more knowledge regarding portion sizes of menu items. Ambiance is great and we enjoyed the historical nature of the lodge.
