The people were nice, but the vet was a little careless. He told me my dog had a bleeding spleen and only a few days left. He advised euthanasia. I said"give me a few minutes." He returned 10 minutes later and said he may have been wrong. I went to my vet next day and found my pup to have a tick disease (a bad one, but still). Pup is still critical with ehrlichia induced anemia, recovering, but still here 3 weeks later. SO, make sure you have a plan: if my dog is alert, can still walk and still wants to eat, euthanasia is not an option. I do need to say thank you to that vet for giving himself a second opinion. I did not leave angry at that vet. Double checking and then counterdicting yourself in something that serious is admirable. I am glad I gave myself parameters to be prepared in case a mistake is made.

Horrible. After we told them what his (cat) main vet states and showed in an x-ray. They started saying there were a lot more issues and maybe a cancerous tumor. Wanted to admit him and go through a lot of tests and an abdominal ultra sound at $1,800 to $2,200. That did not even include the surgery which they said would be around $3,000 extra. They had to be paid at once upfront with no installments excepted. Very un-friendly.Shocked we went back to his original Vet local to Atoka (English Veterinary Clinic and they said they will do everything for $750 out the door including emergency exploratory surgery. The had the compassion and empathy that Memphis Veterinary Specialists were missing.

Great place, took in my pup who had an eye put out and they were very caring and patient with me explaining the procedure, called me after the surgery to let me know how it went and even called me the next day to check on the pup.Would definitely recommend!

Being asked for $500 upfront and being told they can’t take my dying fur baby back until I sign off on the $500 deposit for my baby to be seen is ridiculous… I was told it was one of the only animal hospitals in the area. I drove as fast as I could because my baby’s vet told me the first 15 minutes was crucial. When I arrived I had to wait to be let in the building. Then I was told without signing the $500 deposit they can’t take my baby to the back. When the nurse got up front she said to me “it looks too late, but do you still want me to perform CPR?”. All 3 of these things is enough to throw you off mentally especially when they’re just sitting waiting on an answer (probably my baby’s last 6-7 minutes) of a survival…. I suffer from depression and anxiety, so replaying this scene over in my head, I feel as though my baby could’ve lived.I now know that this place may be great at scheduled surgeries or not when your baby is in the last moments of survival and was taught a valuable lesson with this place… you are better off staying at home and accepting your baby will not make it rather than come here and be charged for services when their is already doubt front staff. If I ever decide to get another fur baby; I’d definitely spend $500+ on an emergency animal kit and breathing devices, instead of coming here in an emergency. And I don’t blame the staff but the policy they have sucks. How would you feel if an ambulance arrives to your aid and asks you for payment before helping you or your relative; telling you they can’t start cpr; stop the bleeding, or drive to the nearest hospital until you sign off on the up front fee?

Last night my wife and I had took our Lovable cat Apollo to them. We had taken him to three different vets and no one really gave us answers on what was wrong with him. We tried everything for him, medicine, food everything. Even cat treats, he didn’t want anything. He had lost weight. We knew that he was in pain. So we talked to the veterinarian that was working and we asked what we should do. We know it was time for him to rest. She had examined him, and his kidneys were shutting down. We told her we didn’t want him to suffer anymore, and that the best thing for him is to let him go to God. And so we did. She was very compassionate. I mean everyone that was working last night was so caring. I want to Thank everyone for taking care of us and our fur son Apollo.

We were very concerned about our pet’s discomfort and took him to MVS (Memphis Veterinary Specialist) where they took good care of him and communicated twice a day on his status. This hospital is made up of mostly women and they made sure you were apprised concerning your loved one. I just want to thank them because this was the first time our pet was sick and it was life threatening. I would recommend this group to anyone. Thank you MVS.
