I wanted to shout out Lizzie who helped me today! She was amazing, so friendly, and helpful. She really went above and beyond in making it a fun shopping experience and I will definitely be coming back! Super cute clothes, and really friendly staff HOWEVER, I feel as if the quality of clothes has degraded since covid. Every clothing item that I have bought from there instantly rips within a week.

Just had the loveliest experience in here, the clothes are so adorable and the friendliness of the staff was next level! They set up my changing room whilst I was shopping, brought me clothes they thought I might like and just made the whole experience excellent.

AMAZING first time in this store!!! My friend and I came in just to browse, and ended up getting some beautiful stuff. Ali was so sweet and helpful and made our shopping experience a breeze. The store was clean, pretty and inviting. We will be back soon for future purchases!!

This was my first time visiting The Avenue location, and it will most certainly be my last. The manager of this location was very unwelcoming and judgmental about my Arula purchase (which was purchased online, but I was wanting to return at this location). I understand that Altar’d State only has sizing up to XL, and Arula has extended sizing, but it clearly states on your return policy that returns can be made in-store for either brand. This manager made the biggest deal about my purchase not coming from Altar’d State, and how they do not carry the Arula sizing. After debating with her for far too long and some unnecessary comments on her end, she finally took care of my return. However glad I am that I was able to complete this return, the unwelcoming and, quite frankly, size shaming that occurred will result in me never returning to this location. Very disappointing considering I’ve only had wonderful encounters with all of the staff at the Cool Springs location.

This place is so beautiful and the employees are very kind. The one that mainly assisted my group was Madison. She was so so kind, she made me and my cousin feel so confident in our dresses we tried on. The minute we walked in she informed us on their current deals and greeted us letting us know who she was and if we needed absolutely anything she’d be there. This is my first time at this store and I WILL be back! :)

I’d like to preface this review with, I was the ONLY one shopping in the store for a minimal timeframe of 45 minutes. So I LOVE altered state, I love the clothes, I love the atmosphere. I LOVE that I can buy a dress and the cutest Bible all in one go. What I don’t love is being treated differently based on how I look. Usually I am dressed in “real clothes” when I go in. I may or may not be carrying an expensive bag as I am a purse girl, and I get helped right away 10/10 times. Yesterday I had on a white tank top and black leggings with sneakers, and my significant other is very tattooed. As I walked in I made eye contact with who I assume to be the manager, I also made eye contact with a girl hanging clearance. No one offered to help, I did need help, but I wasn’t going to speak to someone who didn’t feel I was worth helping. I got my own fitting room, put back everything I didn’t want and went a second round again getting my own room, putting back what I didn’t want. I was acknowledged my second round of putting the items that didn’t fit back, after about 90 minutes in the store, by the girl who had walked past at least 5 times, this was done by asked if I needed a fitting room. I told her no, I had already finished. I then went to stand in front of the register while two employees discussed an outfit the other HAD to have loosely quoting “no you HAVE to get it, even if it is a size small”… I stood there waiting to check out for for at least 10 minutes and not one person said a thing. When asked if I was helped I was happy to say “no, not a soul” with a smile on my face.
I actually put items back that I wanted because it made me feel yucky shopping in there, like I was such a burden being there. I spent my gift card and couldn’t wait to leave. I’ve never left that store feeling so gross and judged. Maybe consider retraining or getting employees who kind of enjoy their job

The workers greeted everyone in the store and explained the special of BOGO 50% off but us. We were also the only black people in the store.ETA- I went ahead and told Sadie what I observed and she immediately sincerely apologized. It was an honest mistake and all of the girls were super helpful after that. Mistakes happen.

I typically don’t leave bad reviews but I couldn’t fully grasp how crazy this situation was. I watched a manager berate an employee about putting her sales under a fellow employee’s name instead. (She gave her friend some sales… so what?) She did it in front of everyone and it upset me so much due to the fact that I would feel upset if I were in that employees shoes. I knew the vibe was off in the store for multiple reasons, but this just pushed me not to go in again.

The best customer service! And beautiful clothes also. Large and well lit dressing rooms that are also well decorated. The staff is really what makes shopping there such a great experience though:).
