If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The owner told me he could replace my laptop battery in two days and would call me when he was done. A month later and $500 wasted he did not call me. In fact I had to keep calling and coming back due to their mistakes. After I kept calling (after a week of no communication) they tell me it's been ready for pick up. I go and there no battery inside. The employee told be it got sent back by mistake without the battery. Again I take it back. 0 communication again I keep calling after a week. The guys again text me saying he'll call tomorrow (he doesn't) he apologizes and said he had to fire an employee because of this (even tho he's the one who been handling everything) he says again the computer been ready and I can pick it up tomorrow. I go pick it up on my lunch break and the owner (same person who texted it was ready the day before) told me it was not ready yet and I could wait while he fixed it. I told him I was on my lunch break and could not wait. So I have to go back again and more then a month after I initially brought it in it still does not work. The owner apologized and told me I could bring it back in and that it was probably due to the water damage my computer had but after this customer services I'd rather cut my loses and buy a new computer. Don't waste your money here and please just take your electronic somewhere else. The owner was very polite in person but this place is extremely unprofessional and does not value your time or and will not communicate with you.

Omar (the owner) throws litter all over this town. Big bags of fast food, beer cans & cigarette butts….at least 3 times a week I find Omar’s trash in my yard. His family operates a compound on the south side of Murfreesboro. I wouldn’t trust him with my computer any more than I’d trust Al Queda. Not hate speech. Fair warning.

I worked with Omar at Compumax during my revamp and update of my two computers. I make equipment last, and this custom built desk top and my DELL laptop are both 13 years old at this point. I wanted to do a complete Windows reinstall on both but just a little way into the process on the desktop and Windows would not install. It turned out that I had a failing hard drive on the desk top and I know that the laptop had been running very slowly for a long while as well. Due to this I decided to upgrade the storage on both machinjes to solid state drives. I bought the SSD for the desk top and brought it back to Omar for the Windows install. There was a slight miscommunication between myself and Omar concerning the Windows version. His associate installed Windows 10 Home, but my licenses are Windows 10 Pro. Omar understood the situation however and since he was in the middle of a very lengthy (two week) data recovery from the old HHD and transfer to a portable SSD, he deeply discounted this work to compensate. In the meantime I had taken the decision to create my own debloated Windows 10 Pro ISO and reinstalled the OS myself which was a better decision overall now that it has a screaming fast SSD. I ran the samne reinstall for my laptop. Both computers were now reset with Windows and Omar was able to recover all the necessary data. It really was a slow and painstaking process copying data from the failing HDD through a dedicated data tranfer machine. In the end, he saved the data from that HDD and treated me right. Do be aware that Omar does pass the store's credit card processing fees on to the customer, however. This is not common practice in most businesses and might be a surprise if you don't notice the sign stating this.

This place is such an eyesore. I don’t know how someone would trust their digital devices to a place that even can’t take care of their own .

They ERASED ALL MY INFO OFF MY IPAD. I have lost 6 years worth of photos, documents, book, etc. I would never take any device to them because they do not have any foresight or consideration for their customers. I took my iPad to get my screen repaired, the touch screen would no longer work after overheating. It took them over a month to make this repair after saying it would only be two weeks. In the repair process, they reset my iPad WITHOUT MY PERMISSION OR KNOWLEDGE. I am now having to go through the process of recovering photos from friends and family. Some photos I will never get back as those people are gone from my life. It was a complete waste of my time.

Negative stars for this business….Don’t trust your equipment to this place! They wiped out 10 plus years of documents, books and photos on my daughter’s IPad. They reset her IPad without notifying her or asking her if it was ok. Cheaper is not always better!

DO NOT RECCOMEND! I wish I could give negative stars. I came here to buy a computer charger that was $80 because I had lost my previous one. Before I purchased the charger I asked multiple times if I could return it and refund it if I found my other one and I was told yes every time. I found my lost charger two weeks after purchasing the new one so I came back to return it and he told me he won't refund me. I told him about what we talked about before and he was rude and yelling throughout our conversation about how he would never give me a refund. I walked out of the store and now I'm out $80 and was lied to and won't be coming back, and I don't suggest you go to them either. They have bad reviews for a reason!!! There are plenty of other electronic shops, anywhere else is better even if you have to go online to get what you need!!

No response on a bid to replace the screen protector as advertised on Facebook. Came to the 'business' to try in person [cos it was cracked bad, ok?], the rep behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about and copped an attitude that I was asking. I should have known when I saw laundry slung over the railing (plainly visible from the parking lot) that I was not about to have a professional experience. Not recommended.

Omar is very knowledgeable about anything to do with computers laptops tablets and phones and he's always taking good care of me and all my needs very quickly and very reasonable. He is one of those guys that's just a great positive person and I'm always happy to see him smile when I have to come walking in the door with some thing that has gone wrong with my laptop or tablet. I have you recommend this small business and locally owned anybody in the Murphysboro area.

First off, they are very vague on pricing. They gave me a price for replacing a hard drive. I had them complete the work. Once the work was complete, I was called and informed that I was being charged for $100 in labor, which was never mentioned. I was never told about their cost of labor. They basically charged me $300 for a 4 year old laptop that was $300 when I bought it. When I arrived, they had 2 young teenagers working the front, and I truly believe that was due to them knowing I was upset at the hidden charges. Then, once I arrive back home and begin to boot up my laptops, It gives me an error message stating that my hard drive (which was just replaced), was not installed.Secondly, I had them repair 2 laptops, both had 1TB hard drives already. They were replaced with smaller (SSD) hard drives, (much smaller). I was charged almost $600 total to repair these laptops, and one of them isn't working. They did drop the price by about $80 to make me happy. But honestly, I am getting more and more upset, the more I think about it. I will be going back tomorrow to have them fix my non-working laptop, and I hope to have a better experience.

STAY AWAY from ComputerRocks in Murfreesboro. Upon my arrival, there was a woman at the desk who was very upset. From what I could gather, she was being charged more than what she was quoted. I basically ignored it, but my how I wish I would have turned around. First, I need to mention that I dealt with different people throughout the entire process. 1 gentleman at drop-off, another gentleman on the phone who had very broken english, and 2 teenage boys when I picked up the laptops. I had an issue with 2 of my laptops. First, I was told it was probably a hard drive issue with one, and corrupted RAM on the other (which I recently upgraded). I was told and signed for a $20.00 diagnostic fee that would be waived if I completed the repair. I was never given labor rates throughout the entire process. I was called a couple days later and informed that both of the hard drives were bad and it would cost $150.00 for one laptop, and $100.00 for the other. I was told they were both going to be replaced with 1tb hard drives. I gave him the go ahead thinking this was the cost to repair them. (Again, I was never quoted labor rates) Both of my laptops originally had 1tb hard drives and they were both replaced with (much) smaller (SSD) hard drives which are faster, but not near the same capacity. One day later when the repairs were completed, I was called was then informed that I was being charged $300.00 per laptop. I was not happy and let him know that I didn't agree with this. I told him that I would be coming by shortly to go over the details. When I arrived, there were 2 teenagers (13 or 14 years old) working the desk. I felt that they were there for a reason. It was known that I was upset and that I was coming in. I was then informed that the previous charges of $300.00 per laptop was not including tax. I informed that I wasnt going to pay that much. The teens ended up calling the original person who quoted me $150.00, and $100.00. He did cut the price down about $80.00. So, I ended up paying $534.00 and some change I have to bring up that I was being charged over $100.00 in labor for each laptop, and one of the laptops has an easy access panel on the underside. It literally has 1 little screw and the entire back comes off revealing the hard drive, graphics/video card, fans, RAM, etc. Once I arrived home, one of the laptops had a prompt that stated the Hard drive wasn't installed. I removed the back cover and noticed the connections were loose. So I basically pushed them in a little harder. They also rounded off 2 of the 4 screws holding down the hard drive. I also noticed that the hard drive that was installed looked somewhat cheap and felt that way as well. I did a little research and found that it could be purchased on amazon for $50.00, and I was charged $150.00 for it. I also decided to check out the old hard drives and see if I could possibly use them for additional storage, and low and behold, they both work just fine. So, now I am wondering why they were replaced at all. It seems that I was charged what, 125% mark up on the hard drives that I didn't need. I also feel that I was being told those were the issue, while the true issue may have been much simpler and cheaper. Needless to say, I am not enthused and I feel like I was scammed. I should have went with my gut on this one.
