I have previously shopped at traded here, but after my last experience, I don't think I'll be coming back. I stopped by with a large tote - 3 pairs of shoes, several tops, dresses, sweaters, jeans. All items were freshly laundered, with no tears or stains, just as is stated in store and on their website. Because I had a limited amount of time, I stated that I would be dropping my items off instead of waiting in store. The employee told me that they would call me when my items were appraised but I would have to come back before closing to pick up any items they could not take. I returned to the store about 2 hours before closing. I was told that my items had not been looked at and that I would have to wait 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, I was told that my items weren't sorted yet and it would be another 45 minutes. At this point started to notice why the store was so busy - no one was actually looking through the merchandise, they were all waiting on their items. When my name was eventually called, nearly 4 hours after dropping my items off, I was told they couldn't take any of my items due to "condition". Overall, it felt like a waste of my time & employee's time.

Everyone is always so helpful. We love to pick up cute items for a great deal! Plus we can easily retire some gently used items for others to enjoy and get us store credit!

My favorite thrift store. I come here way more than I should and they always have great deals on name brand items as well as unique pieces you can't get anywhere else. All the workers are so kind and helpful!!

First time shopper at this MECCA of gently used good store! I am so impressed with the selection as well as the friendliness of the staff. I’m very happy and extremely satisfied.

There was a nice selection of good quality items, but there were a bit too many knicknacks and completely new items for a used clothing store. The pricing is fair on some items, but obnoxious on others. A two piece formal dress not from a high end brand should not be 72 dollars. I was planning on returning, but I received an extremely rude and pretty unprofessional response to an optional survey about my experience. You don't ask your customers for their opinion and then respond by saying your opinion is wrong and inaccurate. I have never gotten a response from a business survey that wasn't along the lines of "Thanks for your feedback!" or "We'll take your response into consideration".

The owner is UNHINGED! I can’t remember a time when I had an experience with an owner who took time out of their day to write paragraph long explanations justifying their bad behavior. On top of that the owner texted me their excuse. That is a complete miss use of my number. I signed up to stay in touch not so I can be verbally assaulted at any hour of the day by the owner. This person is not safe and I will never shop there again.Edit to reply:No no no… you don’t get to respond as if we didn’t have an interaction. Interesting you only reply to these one star reviews but do not take the time in person to hear your customers. That is fake. You were condescending in the store and when you texted me later you defended your attitude. That is unhinged! And like I said, I cannot think of a time when an owner took time to write paragraph responses gaslighting honest reviews. You were very different in person, Lynn.. so stop.

I moved here from Utah 3 years ago and Uptown had been my favorite store. When I heard it was opening here in my town in Tennessee I was ecstatic! I came opening day and have been a faithful shopper ever since! I tell all my friends to come shop here too!

Very nicely chosen gently used clothing, shoes and handbags! Sometimes it’s hard for a woman that’s an XL or XXL (depending on brand) to find anything at a 2nd hand shop. They always have a great selection. The store is clean and well staffed! Everyone is very friendly. 10 out of 10 ?

The owner is very aggressive in how they handle things. If you sign up to stay in touch with them, just know the owner will take your phone number and call you and text you their opinion of your feedback… crazy!be forewarned that if you give feedback in hopes to enter their “Amazon $100 gift card drawing” there’s no such thing. You’re actually inviting the owner to personally message you all the reasons why your feedback is wrong. That is harassment, and not the reason I gave my phone number to uptown cheapskate. Not to mention the customer service, there is terrible. All the workers are sarcastic and rude and can’t be bothered to work. A clear a reflection of their leadership, and you really won’t find anything that great there.Judging by all the other one star reviews, this is not an uncommon experience. All the one star reviews also have the owner writing paragraph long explanations as to why that person‘s honest review is wrong. Who does that?Shop elsewhere.

Such a cute store to get trendy clothes for cheaper! I sold & purchased. The selling process was so easy & I got a fair amount for the items they bought from me! The employees were so nice & the store was very organized. It was a great experience overall!

I came here today for the first time ever and was pleasantly surprised. I brought in a large bag of items and they took over half of them and gave me a pretty fair amount of money in my opinion! They have a huge selection of clothes and all the workers were super nice! Will be back!!

I have sold to Uptown Cheapskate since before the store was officially open to sell. I have sold for years. I have dropped things off and come back the next day or two days later to pick something up. Waiting in store is difficult because there is no where to wait without being in the way. I dropped off two bags of clothes and the associate said “do you want to wait in store of drop off” and I said drop off and she said okay and gave me a receipt and that was it. I dropped off around 10am, Uptown had plenty of time to go through my buy. I had a commitment at 5pm that I went to, I did not receive a call from Uptown until 5:30 and I was unable to pick up my items before the store closed. I went to Uptown the next day to pick up and was told that my items had been donated and what they bought I could only get store credit for because I was not there before 7pm. Uptown had 7 hours to complete my buy and I only had an hour and a half to pickup before they donated my items and refused to give me the cash. They can take as long as they want to go through your buy and then if you can’t make it within the short window of time they want then they donate all your items and refuse to give you cash. I will never sell to Uptown Cheapskate ever again.

I have tried to consign clothes there 3-5 times now and today was my final straw. Each time I have brought in larger laundry baskets full of clothes that were either in season or about to be in season. The first time I decided to drop off, well about an hour later I got a phone call giving me the cash offer which was very generous and they took over half the basket and left maybe 8 items I decided to donate. The next few times they were completely unorganized or inconsistent. In one basket I brought it there were Lululemon sports bras/shorts they took only 2 of about 8 and when I asked why they claimed there was damage however there was nothing wrong with any item. On top of that they took 5 items and offered $10 cash and what they took was name brand clothing such as Lululemon, Nike, American Eagle, Southern Tide, Vineyard Vines. Any item purchased would've easily been over $10. The most recent visits I asked to be called before donation and was not when I returned to the store everything of mine was gone including the basket. My visit today I dropped off at 10:30 and was told it shouldn't take no longer than an hour so I call back at 12:30 and when a worker answered the phone she was too busy playing around with another co-worker to even hear me and then told me it wasn't ready and wasn't a priority for them at that moment. Rude. I drive back to the store around 2:00 that same day and ask for an update maybe if I am in store they won't be rude I thought, I was wrong, the girl at the front desk said I tried to call but it didn't work and I said just once because I don't even show a missed call she said well their here we took 7 of 30 items for $20. I am sorry but that basket was full of American Eagle, Buckle, Vineyard Vines, Fanatics, Nike, and more. I checked the basket and there were 4 Vineyard Vines shirts left and more nice clothing brands left in basket. Every basket I have ever brought in has been all name brand clothing and if it wasn't I left it out. I even had my friend take clothing up there with me, we had the same shirt just a different color in our baskets they took hers and not mine for the reason of "branding". All of that to say each time they didn't donate any clothing for me I immediately took it to Plato's Closet and was given more $$ for less clothing taken or they took everything for fair compensation. I took the most recent basket of the remaining 23 items and they took all but 3. I will not be returning to Uptown Cheapskate or recommending them to anyone. Their workers are rude and they are inconsistent as to what they take.

Wish I could give zero stars. Lady that sorted my clothes was extremely rude and unprofessional. I watched her verbally attack another customer as well. Needs a good attitude check. will not return. Go to plato's closet to sell and shop!
