Is it normal for your stocking crew to walk around threatening customers? The bums outside begging is bad enough, but then you walk into a hostile environment, what a great place

Being in the middle of town is the only positive about here. There were only 2 cashiers and it was as if they were in training. They took for- ev-er. And I only bought 2 things

This place is a joke! Shelves are rarely stocked with merchandise. Customer service does not exist. Staff is in and out the front door. There does not seem to be any management in order! Very frustrating for patrons that want to grab a quick and go! Line for checking out is always long! For this location to be in operation in the heart of downtown Nashville, it doesn't reflect the genuine nature of our city, instead, it paints a grom and disturbing picture of of Music City USA!

This place would get 5 stars from me if they get rid of all the leeches in front of the store.

I work down the street from this location, visit here often for a quick drink or snack. It always has people standing or sitting next to the entrance. Nothing better than standing in line and you smell the worst BO from a homeless person paying for their beer and pork skins in change. The store is pretty well kept, and staff is nice. Some suit stooges up the chain just need to stop being cheap and accept the fact they need to pay for security.

This DGX has a lot of low-star reviews, negative reviews, and comments about empty shelves. I experienced none of the above. I've never been to a DGX store before. Upon entering two employees, one at register and the other on the sales floor, greeted me. I found all the shelves well stocked and the refrigerated drink stations filled. I'm walking around the store it's like a mini-grocery store minus meats. More than a 7-11 carries! Prices, to me, we're decent. Store was clean, well lit, and almost every employee I met greeted me with a Hello and a smile.

Was excited when I moved right down the street from here, but quickly realized I wouldn't be able to shop here. There are a bunch of people loitering out front and even in the store. When I went the staff were loudly arguing with each other and customers and I just didn't feel safe at all. I now always walk the extra mile to the Walgreens and avoid the area of the street it's on altogether because it's so sketchy. Homeless people hang out there because the local stores won't tolerate it. Dollar General needs to do the same.

On 8/20 multiple groups of people showed up to purchase items at 11:15PM. The hours on the door and online state open till 12AM. The store clerk was at the cash register and had the doors locked. He saw everyone standing outside then proceeded to grab his waterbottle and walk to the back room of the store and ignore everyone who wanted to purchase items. This is very unprofessional and sad that this employee made it so the company couldn't make money.

As with most of the reviews for this store, the store looks like it's been ransacked. A lot of empty shelves. Packs of water broken apart and all over the floor. There were some sketchy characters hanging outside as well as inside. I went during the middle of the day, but probably not the best place for a girl by herself to go to late at night (just FYI). I will not go back. Ever. Take a walk a block further and hit up bodega near almost Friday that seems safer and actually has items on their shelves.

We were staying at the Omni for the next two days and realized we needed some sunscreen since we were going to be outside a lot. We looked online for a store that might sell some and came across DGX - Dollar General Xpress. We walked around the store and saw lots of bare shelves. We wanted to buy some drinks and found some bottled water and Gatorade despite the beverages bring well picked over. I had to ask where the sunscreen was, didn't see any on the first aid/toiletries area. It was located right next to the entrance! They only had one brand and type of sunscreen - Panama Jack spray so we bought it. Putting it on later, we found that the spray was wonky and sprayed all over the place and even dripped down and got on our clothes.

Sketchy as hell... Watched a couple people, while there, slide bottles into their pants and run out. The staff had no chance of catching them and security seemed ok with them bolting.

They close at 11:00pm instead of 12:00am. A bunch of people waiting in front of the store, one lady sweeping the floor but not willing to open according to the schedule. That’s unacceptable!!!!

The employees here have poor attitudes. They should stay home if they are that miserable at work. The cashier crumpled up my change before handing it to me. I truly felt as if it were race related.

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt by going three times during my visit. All three times the customer service was horrible. I tried to engage in conversation with the staff and they would no look up at me or acknowledge my presence. They were to busy on their phone.

The actually sell fruits and vegetables here. I was pleasantly surprised! It was just what I needed to keep me healthy in the downtown area.I needed to use the restroom, and the sign says to ask for the key. I asked for the key, and they said they have no public bathroom. Then I said, "But the sign...?", and then I shut up :-)But, they do have fruits and vegetables (yeah, you'll pay a tiny premium)
