I loved the YMCA the way it was. They started renovations during the pandemic and the women's area is 1/4 the old size.Unhappy! Spending money when you didn't have to!

I really like this Y location - great size, nice front desk staff, and communicates well given all the construction happening around it. Even when it’s packed parking isn’t really an issue, and there’s lots of equipment to choose from. My only complaint is there used to be a really friendly parking attendant - smiling, always greeting and keeping an eye on things. The new main parking attendant is consistently rude, not good at directing people when traffic in and out gets heavy, and seems overall to just not enjoy her job. I know everyone has bad days but it sets the tone of entering the gym and the previous attendant was much friendlier.

This location is not it. Out of Downtown, Bellevue, and GH this ranks last place. The least amount of equipment. The least amount of floor space. The least upgraded location. The least amount of parking. The least friendly staff. The least attentive staff. The least easy to access. The most amount of money per month.Make it make sense. I wish I had the level of audacity this location has.

Pay $100 to be a member. Pay an additional $5 every time you park or a $9 extra parking pass to park at a parking lot OWNED BY THE YMCA that I pay to be a member of. Facilities are decent but the nickle and diming you make you just want to join a different gym. I will once I no longer need child care.

I don’t understand why the gym charges it’s members additional 10 dollars for parking when members already pay their monthly dues. Just doesn’t seem fair to the customer and is surely taking advantage of the fact this gym is centrally located.

There are always 3-4 staff members but no one cleans up the workout area. Today seven out of ten of the plated machines had super heavy weights left on them by some d-bags who refuse to strip their weights. And I'm not about to strain my back or shoulder injury doing it for them.I complained twice to the staff. First time "Oh yeah we need to make signs". Second time the manager, who was talking to some dude with a skateboard the entire time I was there said "It's Saturday and we have no wellness staff." Well then who is responsible for the floor? "I am".The correct answer, both times would have been: "I'm sorry you couldn't use our equipment. Of course that's what you pay for. Which machines? I'll do it right now for you."

My dear family of YMCA , let me Introduce myself I’m a Dance & Fitness Coach who always visit the installations for keep myself training and dancing by using the dance roomSpecially when is free like many members who want to stretch etc. Yesterday Thursday 27 JULY I had an uncomfortable experience , while I was using the dance room with another people inside , a “Instructor called “KIM” she open the door and started screaming to us the: “WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE ROOM , IS ONLY FOR INSTRUCTORS, YOU NEED TO GO OUT , while she was keeping telling us to get out I stopped her and ask to please introduce herself because ME as a PROFESSIONAL I have ways to treat people specially if is in my work place , this instructor didn’t have the manners to do it so I was wondering if she really was an ymca Instructor because of her rude approach to us. I’m very sad for this situation and I’m sure the I don’t want to come back to this YMCA. This happened around 8 PM .

While I'm sure what is left of the Ymca at this location is fine but,, there is no pool at This Location. This information would have been more helpful before we walked a mile and a half there... and back in 90+ degree heat. The photos are still on their website for Pools that no longer exist. It would be helpful and more accurate to remove those photos so you don't mislead people in the future. Eric T. Hogan

I called to see if the YMCA was a Christian based organization because I had never been a part of one outside of TN. The girl that answered didn't know neither did the person she asked when she put me on hold supposedly. I was told I needed to email the director. SERIOUSLY!!!???? Hard pass.

Rude, disrespectful and hypocritical staff. They charge for parking. They’re over packed. Their equipment is outdated and rusty. Their locker rooms are tiny. Avoid this location at all costs.

UPDATE!!!!!! The Downtown Y will be under construction tentatively for the next two years to expand and make it more accommodating to the growth of Nashville. Unfortunately, during this time my favorite amenities have been suspended the chapel, pool, sauna, and steam room. The temporary female locker room has relocated off the main wellness floor and is much smaller but doable. Group fitness rooms A and B have not been impacted however; the cycling studio has moved to a smaller space off the track on the fourth floor. Staff ensures that the facility stays clean and offers assistance on updates and changes as needed.

I was a former employee of the YMCA who was forced out after surviving stage four cancer. Apparently an OSHA report was filed soon after, an anonymous report, but I’ve received word that the CEO of YMCA of Middle Tennessee has been slandering my name at Rotary club meetings, because the report came soon after I left. So this “Christian” organization does not take care of employee to make miraculous Recoveries in Turn seeks to damage them As much as possible. I do not recommend anyone deal with these hypocrites
