Called the Nashville West store and it just kept ringing and no one answered, likely because it was a few minutes before officially opening for the day. Later, I called back and instead of saying hello, she just said she was putting the call on hold. Almost 5 minutes later, no one returned to the call, so I hung up. I called a third time and immediately told the woman not to put the call on hold, and why. Instead of acknowledging what had happened before, and apologizing for it, her only response was wanting to know why I was calling. The woman, who did not tell me her name, was cold and not helpful one bit. I ended the conversation after informing her I was going to purchase elsewhere. It seemed that she did not care one bit. I guess top notch customer service is lost on their staff.

I ordered 2 pairs of shoes and had them shipped to the store because they would arrive sooner. I received an email stating they were ready to be picked up. I arrived at the store waited 20 minutes because there was only one cashier the other employees were talking in the isle not working. Sonia the cashier said only one pair arrived. I asked her if she could look it up and track the shipping bc the email said both items had arrived. She looked confused and Andy finally came to assist. I asked the same question they refused to look up the order and said well we don't see them here. Again I told them that I received an email that said that both pairs arrived at the store. He argued with me so I told him to cancel my order. Worst customer service ever.

Some customer service employees are delightful, some are downright disrespectful. Cool selection but half the stuff doesn't have all sizes. The experience of ordering online wasn't ideal, and when I tried to return shoes that were given to me in a bad condition, I was outrightly and vocally suspected of doing that. No innocent until proven guilty here, but that might be expecting too much.

Bought a pair of regular boots a week ago wore them out of the building. I didn't wear them to work (I require safety boots) all week and went out this weekend to find they are a little too small. DWS will not swap out if they were worn outside. You can only have "worn inside" shoes returned. There is no damage to these shoes whatsoever. I have the receipt and they immediately said no your stuck with them. I'm forced to eat $100. Absolutely ridiculous policy.

I only needed to return boots I bought online, with only 3 people ahead of me it took over 15 minutes to get to the register with only one cashier. There were plenty of other people working that I could see. One was even working at a register, but never even glanced at the line with I'd guess 12 customers behind me and growing. Definitely wouldn't shop or return an item here again.

Went to buy shoes and the security guy told use they was closed and we had to leave and the store didn't close till 8 we got there at 7..

I bought a pair of boots online, went to the store to pick them up, tried them on in store and immediately handed them back to the cashier for a return. The boots never left the store yet it has been 10 days and I still have not received my refund. I'm tol 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS. Why would I not be refunded on the spot like most stores? I find this to be poor customer service and I will take my shopping elsewhere going forward.

KATIE IS SO SWEET! I came to DSW today to get some shoes to go with my Halloween costume! The store was clean and organized, and I found the perfect (yet dramatic) shoes! They're metallic gold knee high boots. When I got in line to check out a couple people had their kids with them and Katie, the employee working the register, was so sweet and engaging with them and even offered them some candy. When it was my turn to check out she struck up a conversation about the boots and gave me ideas of things to add on to my boyfriends coordinating costume. It really makes shopping (and anything else) a more pleasant experience when you can tell the employees enjoy their job and are happy to interact with and help others.
