We are testing out steakhouses in Nashville and decided to give Morton’s a try. The chain is well known and respected and I anticipated a solid steakhouse meal in an upscale setting. This is not what we got.The overall decor leads to a comfortable atmosphere but the devil is in the details and he must have abandoned the place and left the details to be ignored. The glasses were spotty, some of the plates looked a bit dingy, the carpet had crumbs, overall the place did not look well cared for and up to standard. We were greeted by a bored hostess who didn’t make eye contact. I was grateful that they were able to seat us without a reservation but that should have been the first red flag. It’s about impossible to get into good restaurants in Nashville on a Saturday night without reservations and I’d guess the dining room area we were sat in was at 50% occupancy. Service was polite but not very attentive. Water refills were few and far between. Drinks were not good. The food was lackluster. Steaks were cooked correctly but for the most part the food was flavorless, the lobster was overcooked, and much of it felt like it came from a microwave with haphazard reheating times.Overall. I didn’t get the sense that the staff was invested in making eating at Morton’s a positive experience for guests or that they even really cared. The icing on the cake was when our server ended the meal with a sales spiel, complete with brochure, on their discount program. It was the first time we saw any real enthusiasm from the server. It was awkward and was difficult to make the sales talk end. This is not something that patrons who have gone out for a nice meal and a relaxing time should be subjected to. I have had significantly better meals at mid-tier chain steakhouses and I do not recommend Morton’s.

Tonight, the happiest part of my experience was when I got to leave. I don't really want to dunk on the place but it was a bad experience from the hostess greeting us to the hostess laying down on her stand and lacklusterly wishing us a good evening as we left. Things that were wrong? Service. Food prep. Food quality. Things that were right? The eight spears of asparagus they served us were cooked perfectly. We didn't finish a single appetizer, entre, or side. I'll give a couple of instances because I don't want to this review to run too long... The potatoes in the au gratin (a "signature" side) had a couple of issues... (1) the potatoes had obviously been cut long before they were cooked and (2) the whole dish was cooked wrong... Frankly, it tasted as if it had been cooked and then re-warmed. The "Wagyu" meatballs. We were told the "Wagyu" meatballs had "a bit of pork in them". It tasted as if they were half pork. Secondly, my family runs a grassfed organic cattle ranch and that beef did not taste like any other *authentic* Wagyu I've ever had. And, again, improperly cooked. If I didn't have a moral objection to wasting meat (it's because growing up on a ranch I was cognizant from a young age that every single piece of meat was the result of the death of a beautiful and unique animal) I wouldn't have taken any of it home. I'll choke it down tomorrow because I hate wasting meat... not because I want to eat it. Honestly, the most anticipated moment of the night was the return of my credit card with the check so that I could tip out and leave. I gave this place two stars for the same reason I left a 20% tip: I'm a generous guy who doesn't like to create bad blood over trifling nonsense as I can always just never go back. However, I left this review as a warning to others not to befall my same fate.

If you can get past the extremely rude hostess, you’ll be fine. Food is good. Service is solid. Hostess should work for Walmart.

Don’t let them park your car! I used the Vallet parking during Christmas . I gave the attendant a tip for parking my car and getting my car. I have been receiving a notice that I had parked my car illegally for 4 months. I have contacted Morton’s six different times and was told they would take care of the issue. Metropolis is the name of the company that continues to send me a $90.25 bill. Of course this company doesn’t have a number to call “JUST SEND US THE MONEY” and that chance is NONE! Be careful because Morton’s told me this happens occasionally but they will take care of it. NO THEY DON’T.Parking: See above!

I have been to mortons many time before and this was a epic disappointment. All levels manager, food, and service. I had a 6:30 reservation which we were promptly seated at 6:30. We received our water a server in a few minutes. Made a drink order 25 minutes for our drink order. 1 white wine and a apple cider. Then we were able to place our order. 2 cups soup onion and crab bisque. 8oz filet with fries and lobster ravioli. We received our soup promptly. Then 20 minutes went by and our server stopped for the first time after order and said"oh you didn't get bread". At this point I am annoyed for all this sitting I told her no forget it. Still waiting for food 2 tables in front of us sat after us and we're halfway thru there meal. Server stopped by again and I asked what's going on this is really long. No response. Now a manager comes over (who I have watched chatting with the other manager instead of checking meal times or speaking with guests.) I am mad at this point. our food finally arrives after being seated 1.5+ hrs after seating. My wifes steak is cooked correctly, but no fries. Creamed spinach is cold and thick like paste. They finally brought the fries. My Ravioli was not completely cooked and partially hard. I took 2 bites my wife had a couple bites. The server returned and we asked for boxes and 2 desserts to go. We just wanted to leave. The manager Jeffrey Mallo came back to the table to apologize and tell me I picked up your 2 drinks which mine was not even alcohol. Plus give me his card. Why? I have run restaurants and ran kitchens it is very difficult during peak times. A happy staff thrives on peak times to work together I didn't see that and that comes from the top. $145 meal it should have been .5 star E3 or Jeff ruby's is far better

Morton’s Nashville has nice atmosphere and ambiance. I guess next time we dine at an upscale steakhouse I should tamper down my expectations. Our server Rob was awesome as he was whitty, knowledgeable and attentive. As far as the cuisine we had bacon wrapped scallops for which flavor was nice however the scallops themselves were a bit done and somewhat chewy but tasty. The 16oz prime pork chop was good not great. Expected it to rival the double cut chop from Skulls or Gannons but it fell way short. The 16oz prime Cajun ribeye was good however was expecting it to be more tender since it is supposedly prime beef. The best thing for us was the Smoked Gouda au gratin potatoes, wow they were fantastic! The onion bread loaf and butter were delicious also. Hot bread soft butter amazing. Finally dessert we had lava cake and ice cream for which was outstanding! So if you are looking for good hot bread, side items and dessert it was great but the protein was average especially for the price you pay!

We dined to celebrate a birthday. Loved the birthday greeting on the menu. Nice, personalized touch! Food was well prepared and presented. Fabulous food from appetizers to desserts. One small item to note was the wait staff was under staffed. Our poor server was literally out of breath the entire night. She was excellent and did a great job considering she was covering extra tables. Overall a nice experience and worth another visit.

My wife and I were having a date night at Morton's and from the moment we walked in the door we had a great time. The food is amazing, it's actually right up there with the best food I've ever had. The manager stopped and asked us how things were and our waitress was perfect. She had the perfect balance between being at the table when we needed and not when we didn't.
