I was very disappointed with this museum. We were a group of four people on the audio tour. The displays and audio were primarily about the instruments more than stories about the musicians, and other than one token wall, there were NO exhibits on female artists. The museum was dedicated almost completely to Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Jimmy Hendrix, with a smattering of other male artists thrown in there occasionally. I do not recommend.

Truly a wonderful place to check out in Nashville! As a musician myself, I was astounded by the wide variety of pieces on display. The museum highlights some well-known acts, such as Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Cash. Importantly, they also have artifacts that you might not be familiar with at a glance, but you will definitely have heard on your favorite recordings. My favorite example of this was Louie Shelton's Fender Stratocaster that was played on The Jackson 5's "ABC," Lionel Richie's "Hello," and many other famous recordings! One of the guides, Chad, happily talked Jimi Hendrix with me, and even recommended a local band playing while we were in town. Without him, we'd might not have been able to experience the amazing Rische sisters! Thanks, Chad! The Musicians Hall of Fame is a must-do for any music fan visiting Music City!

Had a great time here, and it included all types of music, not just country. Definitely worth visiting even if you visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. Just be sure to go in the MUSEUM entrance - watch the signs carefully. There's an auditorium entrance in the same building that has a separate ticketing process and those tickets do NOT include the museum.

There’s a lot to see here in two hours, but the museum is showing its age; for example, some headphones don’t work, including at the interactive Ringo Starr exhibit. The guided tour is not well organized, the commentary drones on and is difficult to hear over the music poring out from overhead. If you’ve already been to the stellar Country Music Hall of Fame and the world class National Museum of African American Music, you may enjoy this but set your expectations on the low side.

Locals on the plane told me I needed to make a stop here. They were so right.Me and my husband loved this place. We aren't musicians either. I highly recommend getting the audio. The back stories are so interesting. The founder himself is giving the tour through the audio and known these people personally. It's a true treasure. There was so much to see and so much history! And it wasn't packed so I could really enjoy the place.

This was a lovely museum filled with many "unsung heroes" of the music industry - those that are involved with production. Unfortunately some of the exhibits were not functioning, but the remaining 'hands-on' opportunities were really fun! My husband, who is in production, and I really enjoyed our visit. The souvenir badges are a fun touch!

Very well designed museum, learned so much about the beginnings of many musicians and groups. The sound stages were cool. Mostly focusing on guitars (6, 12 string, banjos, bass) and I was hoping to see more about brass and woodwinds (sax, trumpet, clarinet, etc.). Great background on Gibson/Les Paul sound development.Suggest a few 'the science behind' how instruments make their sounds for the technical crowd.

Overall, the museum was fun! The Jimi Hendrix experience/secret room was super cool! See pics! You definitely need more than 2 hours to walk through if you want to see everything throughout the museum. I opted for the audio tour but found it to be difficult to concentrate on the audio while also trying to find specifics that were talked about. I don't think the number(star) system works the greatest and not worth the extra 15 bucks. Hopefully, it will get figured out for an easier experience for everyone.

Really well done, great way to spend 1-2 hrs. Learned that I enjoy playing drums more than the Bass?. Parking garage next door above the public transportation/bus station uses scan to Pay via your smart phone.. one could spend more than 2hrs if you participate in all the recording rooms/play along stations and watch the multiple movie shows in various rooms. Got 2 shirts in the gift shop at the end.

As much memorabilia and information as you care to take in. We had fun singing karaoke to Ray Charles and taking a drum lesson from Ringo. We would've loved the audio tour, but they ran out of charged devices. Oh, well. Still loved it.

Not at all what I expected. There is a lot of cool memorabilia here but for the size of the place and all the empty space, so much more could have been done. We didn't even see a Rolling Stones exhibit or Pink Floyd. The Jimi Hendrix exhibit was awesome though. Not horrible but definitely needs more work

Had a couple hours to spare walking around Nashville and this came up within a short walk, so decided to check it out. In a town full of country music, this was a nice change of pace, as it was dedicated to ALL genres and includes displays on writing and producing as well. This is a place where if you wanted to get through quickly, you could, or you could stay for hours. I would say our visit lasted about an hour and a half; there were some exhibits we moved through a little faster and others that we took our time at.The only real disappointment was probably the cost. $28/regular adult admission feels about $8 too high for me, but it could be normal for the area (this was the only museum we went to in the area, so I don't have much for comparisons sake).Overall, worth a visit if you are into music and are in the area.
