Nashville Humane Association is a small, local, nonprofit shelter dedicated to saving and caring for homeless, adoptable, and at-risk pets in Nashville, middle Tennessee, and beyond. As a gift-based organization, it relies on donations from supporters rather than government funding or national organizations. The shelter has a long history of providing excellent care and community outreach, with staff and volunteers who take time to ensure the pets are comfortable and stress-free while waiting for adoption. The facilities are clean and well-sized, with a friendly and helpful staff that goes above and beyond to support both pets and adopters. Many adopters have shared positive experiences, noting that the shelter takes great care of its animals and follows up after adoption. Pets like Domino and Fae quickly become part of families, with adopters emphasizing the support received, especially during treatments such as heartworm care, which the shelter covers at no cost. Overall, Nashville Humane Association is highly recommended for those looking to adopt cats and dogs. The organization’s dedication to animal welfare, community involvement, and compassionate care makes it a trusted place for finding a new furry family member.

I signed up to be a volunteer 🙋♀️, did all my online training, and this was my Shadow Day training. Danny checked me in and was fabulous and Daniel did our training. I'm a green 💚 level dog walker now and can sign up for volunteer shifts.

I LOVE Nashville Humane. In late 2024, I adopted my dog at 2 months old and he is the best boy I’ve ever had. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago; I decided to go adopt a 6 month old kitten. Best decision ever! They are best friends already. If you are thinking of adding a new best friend to your life, this is the place to go.
