Its been a while since I shopped at Old Time Pottery and its so run down. The staff today were so unprofessional and they use their time to play around the register while ignoring customers and their needs. Lack of supervision from management. The front of the store was nasty and needed some housekeeping. Needed to use the restroom and both bathrooms were out of order. Not good. This is not the same Old Time Pottery that I spent hours enjoying shopping in. Please tell me why and what happened to your great sevice. The Old Time Pottery that use to be is no more a n d this saddened me.

Tornado Naena Null reporting from Nashville·Was out and about this afternoon, getting groceries and running errands. Needed to get household supplies, so went to Walmart in Rivergate. Pull up to Walmart, and daughter's boyfriend goes to get me an electric shopping cart. Security is outside, and Walmart is NOT letting anyone in. Sky is dark and getting darker. It's about 4:15pm. So, I decided we'd just go home, because we hear the tornado sirens. I usually take the back roads, because I hate Gallatin Rd traffic, but the voice in my head said to stay in Gallatin Rd. I get to Old Hickory Blvd, and the sky is pitch black. The voice tells me to pull into the parking lot and go in to Old Time Pottery. The manager was coming to lock the door just as Jessica and KenLynn got in, and she asked him to wait because I was coming in with her boyfriend, and I walk with a cane. He let us in then a few more and locked the door. We were in there maybe 3 minutes, and the lights went out. They told everyone to head to the bathrooms, and used their phone flashlights to show the way. By this time, you could hear the wind and hail and the freight train sound. After about 15 minutes, the manager said the tornado had passed, and we could leave, but anyone who wanted to stay was welcome to stay, but because there was no power, no one could shop. I was so thankful that he let us in, that I hugged him and thanked him, because we could have been out there in the midst of the tornado. He hugged me back, told me his name was Anthony, and said when I come back to shop, ask for him, and he would take care of me.I say this to say that this business put the safety of people first, and let in everyone they could that was seeking shelter from the storm, unlike Walmart, who was sending people away. Three people lost their lives in the tornado that hit Madison, just a few blocks from Old Time Pottery. Houses were destroyed, power lines down. I am truly thankful and grateful that the voice who spoke to me (God) told me to go to Old Time Pottery, because the street that got hit by the tornado is the back road that I generally take to avoid Gallatin Rd traffic. God was truly watching over me!!

Very sad to say I've made my last trip. Buyers beware. I purchased something for my daughter that she couldn't make work yesterday . Today I returned to the store with the receipt and was told because it was apparently on sale( I didn't even realize it at time of purchase so definitely not much on sale) and they will not return any item that's on sale. Or exchange for at least something that will work. Truly a horrible return policy. The receipt says CLEARANCE isn't eligible for returns. And they have many items marked clearance but they tell you AFTER the fact that they consider all sales to be clearance whether marked as such or not. Super shady. A business with integrity doesn't need to fool you into purchasing thinking they have this wonderful return policy. Let me save you the trouble . Shop elsewhere. They had a great thing going years ago. Now with all the places like they used to be, offering much better shopping experience, it's a wonder they haven't been forced out of the game.

It's worth the drive, lots & lots of household stuff, items for pets too. Great selection of seasonal items, and plenty of pottery items as well

Don't ask anyone what the policies are for returning things. You'll get different answers and if you try to return something they're rude and treat you like you should know the policy. Educate your staff better on return polices and customer service. Will never shop there again.

Horrible experience. No one knows what they're doing or what the polices are and then they'd rude and treat you like you did something wrong. Never again.

This store seems to be going downhill now they got a guy sitting inside the door trying to sell you gutter guards. Not to mention their prices are nowhere as good as they used to be also the quality of the merchandise is really not that great

1/10/23The outside of the store looked quite apocalyptic. Boarded up windows & doors, trash and weeds. We weren't even sure it was still open.Still some neat stuff inside but lots of empty shelving.Had the feeling of a store on its way out.

I have to use a scooter.Entered store, first thing was a shopping Cart blocking 80% of entry ..I was able to squeeze by using scooter.Went to try and use ladies restroom. The worst mess I've ever seen in all my days.Filth everywhere.Toilet double containers broken and all over stalls.Nothing was working. The most filth ridden ladies rest room I've ever encountered.Add to that the disposition of BRENDA, THE MANAGER, WHEN I SAID TO HER: HAVE YOU SEEN THE LADIES RESTROOM...SHE COPPED AN ADDITUDE WITH ME.No toilet tissue in stalls. Wet floors. IN ALL MY LIFES YEARS, I'VE NOT EVER SEEN A MORE UNSANITARY BACTERIA-LADEN WOMENS RESTROOMToiletsnot flushed and every single stall had broken tissue rolls busted and on the floors. The attitude of management was not pleasant. She can say, "yelled at" all she wants to. No yelling involved. I stated, clearly, "have you seen the ladies restroom"...it is disgusting"Fact: should never get to that point.A disgusting mismanagement of time and effort. As a store, there is a responsibility for cleanliness. This place missed the mark. After I approached her A bit later and she was there with equipment, I wanted to just let her know I appreciated her addressing it.Her mumbling and comment about getting "yelled" at, was definitely uncalled for. This place has lost my business. During the holidays,I generally spend close to $400.00 in this store. I had items in my back basket of my scooter. I put them back. You can thank Brenda for my choosing to spend elsewhere this year.

This is a very large store with a lot of inventory. Stephanie was most excited to go here and explore the vast amounts of sales and whatnot. I gave her a time limit kinda as a joke, for one could spend many a long hours in here throughly checking everything out. I scoped out some Halloween things and she was looking for a frame as well as a water feature for the yard. She found a frame and most likely will go back for the fountain. A woman in line was frustrated, for the are picky about returns and this woman gave stephie 3 rather cool lamps with solar recharging power. It was a good visit.
