this Pearle Vision is the only one I go to and have only gone to since moving here from Louisville. I like that the store is small and they carry very nice frame (it reminds me of the office I go to back home). Anyway I don't normally have bad experiences at this location in the 7 years I've been here.....BUT yesterday, 3/19/24, was not a great experience. The receptionist was nice, but the guy helping me with the glasses was not friendly, he was semi rude and talked to me as if I was a dummy. First he questioned my new prescription (which I had just got 30mins before I arrived there) because they had a bifocal and the last time I came to Pearle vision (2019) they were single lenses. Not sure why that was such a problem, but again he was slightly rude about it. I explained I had just recently had cataract surgery and lens transplants in both eyes. Then I picked out my frames and sat down while he entered my ins info and pricing of the frames and lenses with my insurance. The lenses ended up being more than my frames My total was $400+ and after having him explain my options as far as leaving some things off, etc I decided that I wanted to shop around and see if I could possibly find cheaper lenses elsewhere. Not because I couldn't afford it, but because I like to be frugal when possible. Anywho, I asked to take a pic of the paper with the pricing info (that shows before and after ins cost) so that I can have something to compare to when looking in other stores, he acted like I was requesting a pic or copy of his SSN or for someone else's private info. The info was mine! Then when I was leaving I picked up the frames I had chosen, so that I could return it to it's rightful spot, he and the receptionist whom walked up (not sure when he came over there) with an over enthusiastic (sarcasm) voice says, "you can leave that there!" as if I was going to bolt out of the store with them! I don't like when people are rude and I hate when I'm treated as somebody who would have to steal out of pearle vision to get glasses. Again I'm not new to the store, I can afford pretty much anything in there. Please have a customer service training session with him (wish I knew his name it was about 330p on 03/19) and train them not to hold on to the stereotype that black people steal. If I decided to go back and purchase those glasses, I hope he is not the one to assist me and if so I pray he has a better attitude. I'm a friendly bubbly person. So bad energy doesn't mix well with me. usually based on just this experience alone I would never go back, but since I've been a customer for 7years I'm willing to give it one more try. The staff was really friendly and Dr Perry did a great job getting my prescription. They have a decent selection, though maybe a little smaller than other glasses stores, but I found that I was looking for!

A special thanks to David! I had a pair of Champion Gordi flexible frames in which the flexible frame busted. Repairing those frames are a level above normal frames. He went out of his way to find a solution. I also had scratched lens that would not have been under warranty if he couldn't have fixed the frames. I highly recommend this shop!

In the busyness of life, I waited too long to reorder contacts before I noticed I had two pair of daily wear contacts left. I ordered another 1-month supply over the phone but they wouldn’t be in before I left to go out of town. I mentioned this predicament. Dr. Perry went above and beyond to make sure I had trials before I went on my trip. Most of the employees were out of town for a training conference at this time, so I believe only the optometrist Dr. Perry was there. So thankful he took time to care and go the extra mile. This is rare these days.

The WORST customer service. I have an emergency - my glasses broke on me and I needed to get ahold of someone and it took 3 days to get someone on the phone.. My glasses broke on a Friday, I called this Madison location on Saturday morning when they opened with no answer. I got the machine - I left a voicemail. Moments later I received a "sorry we couldn't pick up the phone" text message. I replied to the text message, reiterating the voicemail I left minutes prior. I received NO RESPONSE or CALL BACK from my voicemail or text message. I am legally blind and cannot operate without my glasses and there seemed to be no sense of urgency or willingness to help. I was told frames would take 14 days, and that since I wasn't fitted for contacts, they weren't able to give me samples to hold me over until I could get in to make an appointment - which is on July 18th - 8 days from now. So I am supposed to not see for over 2 weeks? They just seem more money hungry than actually wanting to help their customers. This branch definitely gives the Pearle Vision brand a bad wrap.

I have to say a special thank you to the wonderful woman at Preal Vision in Goodlettsville. I was lost and looking for a company that used to be at what is now pearl. Even though I was not a client she gave me directions and even called the place to let them know I was running late. I had forgotten, my cell phone. IF they are that nice to a non=paying person imagine how nice they are to paying ones.

First visit to Pearle Vision and it was excellent. The staff was very friendly and the doctor was knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciated that he took the time to have a conversation with me because that made the experience even better. Sometimes when visiting doctors you feel rushed and as if they don't care. Didn't feel like that here. Also, check out experience was great and felt the team tried to help make sure I got the most out of my insurance. Definitely will return and I definitely recommend.

They don’t openly display their correct hours online nor on there door front. Because of their lack of transparency I’m having to run all over town begging someone to fill a contact prescription and paying more money out of pocket than necessary. They’ve been subpar for years, but after this fiasco I will not be returning.

Extremely poor customer service. Courtney is very rude and told me she wouldn’t order my contacts after I had already paid someone else in the store almost $300 for them. She told me that I owed them $90 instead of the $85 that I was told to pay for the exam. She stated she would not order my contacts until I paid them the extra $5 dollars. I had already paid for my contacts! She was attempting to steal hundreds of dollars if I didn’t pay her $5 extra for the exam. Ridiculous and illegal! Would give zero stars if I could!!!!

The staff is very knowledgeable, great selection of frames, the doctors listen and explain everything! The only place I will go for me and my family's eye care!

DO NOT COME HERE. This is the worst place ever. Mr. Perry ( I refuse to call him Dr.) diagnosed my husband with angle closure glaucoma and said he would be blind in 6 months. We of course dropped to our knees in shock. Mr. Perry would not answer any of our questions, would never look at us when he talked, and had the worst bedside manner ever. Then tells us to "go live your life" when we asked what do we do now. He acted with no emotion, no concerns. He left us hanging in limbo not knowing what to do or expect. I contacted Loden Vision and the PROFESSIONALS diagnosed my husband (after a very thorough exam/testing) with no issues other than dry eye syndrome. Loden vision showed us such compassion and caring. You can tell Loden/staff is definitely a BRAND NAME while Pearle Vision/staff is so generic that you are better off not wasting time with Pearle, because you are going to get diagnosed wrong and suffer emotional pain. WORST PLACE EVER!!
