Moving is an emotional time and renting a 26ft truck and a caravan can be a little scary. The gentleman at the Charlotte Pike location was WONDERFUL! He had to juggle several clients that were in bad moods over things he had no control over, but he was calm and tried his best to make things right. He took his time and showed me everything I needed to know about this mammoth 26ft truck. When I came back the next day, he remembered me and complimented his boss, Corey, for making sure the trucks were tested and cleaned before going back out. We LOVED the Caravan! My son wanted to buy one after the week was over. Thank you again to Penske/Hertz for making my move a little bit smoother!

CAREFUL of these guys. If you are a doing a cross country move their poorly maintained trucks will not be your friend and only add to your stress. We picked up a truck in SLC Utah and moved to Nashville TN in July. This was the worst rental experience I've ever had! An hour to pick up the truck in SLC, only to find out the fluids were low and the transmission warning light was on. I called the roadside service and the guy told me that "it should be ok to drive" for 2000 miles. When I wrote into their customer service this afternoon, I promptly received a call back within an hour, but the girl was ridiculous. For multiple issues, she offered $100 credit on a $1000 reservation. I literally laughed out loud. She then said she could transfer me to someone else who might be able to assist further. After being transferred to Eric Smith in the local Nashville district office, he offered a credit of $350. While 35% is a decent discount, this doesn't take into account these guys are much higher than their competitor Budget, as well as have the most poorly maintained fleet. Eric took care of the credit in about 5 minutes and I should see it in a few days on my card. This hardly makes up for the achy back for the 30 hour ride cross country because the seat is so worn, the time lost in having to call and check up on their truck, the time and money to purchase new fluids for the truck, not to mention standing over the gas canister while refueling because their gauges "don't work in the 26ft trucks". Save your back, your sanity, your wallet, and your peace of mind and book with a company that maintains their fleet and doesn't make you jump through hoops to get a fair resolution to issues.
