After reading the reviews, especially lots negative reviews, I really appreciate the informative parts. However, as a federal facility, there is very limited efforts for staffs to change any of those situations, especially passport issues. I witnessed today from 7:30-8:30 that the staff had to repeatedly explain to people who were not happy or had attitude to her. She had her the best patience and tried her best to be professional and respectful. Unfortunately, some customers were angry about the limit service about passports with attitude or verbally being rude. I can totally understand if she has attitude too. Fortunately, she didn’t lose her calmness and actually help people to make an appointment on ‘self-service’ system. We need to give her applauses and be nice and more understanding. Yes, I was there 4:30am this morning. Pancake pantry’s breakfast was a reward to myself. lol

Understand that it’s understaffed / always a long line which is frustrating - but not the employees’ faults. However the women are always so rude, unhelpful and just miserable. One of them just yelled at my kid for accidentally bumping into something and knocking it down which she immediately fixed. Now she is sobbing that she is sorry and in trouble.

Passport walk-in hours are ONLY 830-1130 on Wednesday. Sounds like a nightmare from a Kafka novel. Let me give you the scoop on passport walk ins. They only accept walk ins from 830. A woman with a clipboard will come out around 7:15 or so and tell the line that they can only take about 12 people. Any extras in line after you get your name on the list are dismissed to go home. That was about another dozen people including anyone who arrived after about 6:50. Fortunately the woman’s cool demeanor is able to avoid a riot. The only way you have a chance is to get in after is if you happen to be at the right time and the line has gone quickly. It’s a nightmare. The US gov’t can charge whatever they want for these. It can be a guaranteed money maker. And still they don’t give enough agents to honor all comers. It’s ridiculous. It’s something you’d expert in a 3rd world country.

It was a long process, but an employee by the name of Lori Singleton was patient with me, helped me with everything I needed, and made sure I knew exactly what was going on at each stage in the process.

came n told us they could only accept 12 people for a passport walk-in. Do usps employees have so much to do in 1 day to where they can’t accept more then 12 people?

A very poor advertisement for the post office. They have several times delivered other people's clearly addressed mail to our address. On one occasion, the wrongly delivered letter (to a lawyer's office) was wrongly delivered a second time. The staff are inattentive. On my last visit, there was one person behind the counter, she said hello, then spend several minutes clearing up boxes and putting things away, even disappearing completely from view, while I waited at the counter. I understand that they are probably understaffed, but she could at least have said "Sorry, I'll be with you in a moment". I don't believe the staff are intentionally rude, but the behavior comes across as indifferent to the public.

Absolutely don’t go unless you have to. Especially for walk-in. Sounds like there might be a couple of nice employees from other reviews but terrible for us.We waited in line for almost an hour. At 10:15 an employee came out and told us that a man three people in front of us was the last person they would service. When we asked if there was a way of knowing this, she told us that she had told that man . Well, that man didn’t care enough about the other 10 people behind him to let those of us know that he was the last one. Seems there’s no human decency anymore. Also, I respectfully suggested maybe a sign or number system in the future to let people know and she responded, “ oh, so you think you’re gonna teach me a lesson now?” OMG!!! So everyone else left and it was just that man and us and over an hour left of their walk-in services so I asked if it was OK if we waited that last hour just to see if there was time and the woman said that she wasn’t going to do ours no matter what. Goodness. And that was me being nice and respectful to her so….

Absolutely terrible. They have a little hidden poster that shows that they only accept passport applications from 8:30 to 11:30 on Wednesdays. I showed up at 11:00 and they told me they were done for the day but didn't point out the hours because they should have taken it. Went again Monday and they pointed out the hours this time. Skip it, drive the extra 5 minutes.

Went to try to get my passport done,The woman that came out was short in her explanations and not helpful at all.So much for "walk-in passport". I was sent away with the form. Then, I get a pen and come back and then the line was full. This isn't a "walk-in" unless you're already prepared.

This has to be the worst set of employees I have ever seen. I understand being understaffed but the lack of empathy or general care is appalling. Do not go to this location for passport services(walk in or appointments). They will literally have an excuse week in and week out. What a useless office. Would rate it a negative star if I could.

After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant to go to a walk in passport appointment here, however the staff (Adrienne) and the other lady at the desk were very friendly and helpful! I went at 10 on Monday morning and they got me in and out fairly quickly for a walk in passport!

Charissee, supervisor at the Acklen Street post office, recently went above and beyond to assist and resolve a situation with my post office box rental. Her expertise, persistence, concern, and knowledge assisted in making my debacle a successful turnaround. Thanks for having an employee like Charissee on your staff.

Garbage staff, could not tell the front of a stamp from the back. Went for change of address bringing everything from instructions email and was declined- wasting my money. Was asked for documentation that was not needed without any explanation.

My clerk was helpful in mailing a big package....for a reasonable price. And she went out of her way to find floral stamps for me.
