Today was our first visit for our 7 1/2 year-old 193 pound, highly anxious Great Dane. Every year, the vet visit for vaccinations is something that I dread. Today that changed. Dr. Barrett and the entire staff at Appalachian were helpful, kind and knowledgeable They all made us feel that our dogs anxiety is manageable and suggested a concrete plan as well as emotional reassurance for all of us! We now have confidence that we have found a veterinarian practice that we can trust and that they will be here to take care of our big baby as he ages.

First off, if this review says I recommend this place, that's a lie... I wanted to have a good review for this place, I really did. I had a cat I rescued from a local store that was pregnant and they helped me when I was bringing in a whole litter of kittens who has eye infections and they did help. But on 2 occasions now, you have taken over $1200 from my mother for 2 cats. Who died within 3 days of you sending them home to her. You provided no answers, no answers for my mom to live with. A constant guilt she will live with for the rest of her life that she will never get over. And you couldn't even give her an answer. $2400. No legitimate test results. Nothing but 2 dead cats and no answers. How can you feel OK with yourselves for taking $2400 from someone who can't afford it, and providing them with nothing? Unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable. And I'm only on the issue of you taking advantage of my mother. I haven't even gotten into my own issues. THEY WANTED ME TO AMPUTATE MY DOG'S LEG FOR NO REASON. I came in with my dog who I also rescued, who had an issue with her leg. They told me it needed to be amputated and quoted me $1600 to have her leg cut off and guess what? Thank goodness I didn't have the money in that moment because I would've done what they advised. Here we are over a year later with a ridiculously happy dog with 4 legs who is as healthy as can be. How much are you going to take from people in this area who can't afford it just because they want their fur babies to live? You are taking advantage of the people who will do anything they can to help an animal have the best quality of life, draining them of money, and providing no answers as to why? $1200 and nothing but a marker in our back yard to remember the beautiful life you didn't save. Money is the root of all evil.

I have taken my animals here for years. We had to put our first family dog down recently Dr Lamaster and the whole team were so good to us and sweet to our Abby as they helped her cross the rainbow bridge. We will never forget their kindness

The staff was friendly, and worked well with my puppy. Dr. Sorohan was amazing with Zeus. She came in the room, sat on the floor, and began making Zeus feel comfortable with her. He and I both felt her calmness, that is what we needed, because we were both very anxious about our first visit to the vet. She took time to explain things to me, and gave me advice on some behavioral issues he is having. After leaving, I took her advice and noticed big changes already. I am very pleased with the care he received and highly recommend her for your animals!!

My dog wasn't a patient there until an accident he was involved in. They worked him in on the same day I called and got him taken care of within 3 hours of my call and bringing him home. Wonderful visit. Highly recommended!!

Staff are personable courteous and know exactly how to help you, they can also answer questions over the phone, and can book your appointment quickly. The Vets are courteous and caring and treat you and your pet with the upmost respect. They treat your animal as if it were their own oh, they are very loving with the animals. The groomer is an expert and can groom any kind of dogs or cats. She knows exactly what to do with them to get them to behave. He is kind loving and fast and it is well worth the price. I recommend Appalachian Veterinary to everyone.

one thing you should understand before you go in here. they are a business. if you have bad credit and little money, kiss your friend goodbye. I took my beloved cat in there last week after spending over 1000 dollars at another vet that neglected him. doctor said it would be around 2 grand to fix him. I only had 600 dollars and she stated they don't do payment plans. only other option i had was to put my kitty down which was hard to swallow considering he could've been saved.

Staff was very rude to my daughter and their demeanor towards her and her furbaby was was unneccessary. I understand that we have a bad day every once in a while. However, that is no excuse to take things out on the patient or their owner. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with entire staff.

I have taken many animals to them over the years and the staff and vets have always been amazing with me, my pets and answering my kids questions. Today I had to take my baby in for an eye injury, once again they were amazing. they didn't do any treatment or procedures until speaking to me first and going over pricing. My son asked several questions to the vet and he answered every one of them to help my son feel better about the health of our dog (hes loves his furbaby) so a huge thank you to everyone!
