Amazing find in East Tennessee. We were the only ones there for a Thursday evening, but most of their business is during lunch. Everything is absolutely delicious and not made like anything I’ve had before. From the ridiculously tender shredded beef in the stroganoff to the flavor bomb cabbage rolls and the simple, yet satisfying borscht, we didn’t want to stop shoveling it all into our faces. This is easily the best food in all of Newport, and probably all of the lakeway area.

This is an off-the-beaten-path gem. It’s worth the extra few minutes off the interstate. The owner recommended the special, the pork stroganoff and I have never had anything like it. What Americans call stroganoff is nothing like this, so I almost didn’t get it. It’s so flavorful and satisfying. The slaw was excellent. A little tangy, which I liked. The fried bread was also great, but I was so full, I couldn’t keep going. I would usually eat about half this amount of food, but I couldn’t stop. We live 1.5 hours away, and I’d drive it to eat that again. My husband got the burger and he enjoyed it as well. The couple who own it were very kind and attentive.

Wow! Great food & an experience. I felt like we were home at our grandparents. The building itself is very neat with Russian touches. Best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t even like beef stroganoff, my husband ordered some and I tried it & it was amazing. I highly recommend them. Seems like a very sweet couple & there’s even a nice view across the street.

What a cute little place. Loved the borscht. I'm used to having it cold but this was perfect with potatoes and cabbage. And the Piroshki were AWESOME.

1st visit, and we were very full with food to take home! The fried potato appetizers were great, and the butterscotch and chocolate deserts were delicious! Bacon cheeseburger was HUGE!!

We love trying food from different countries. This didn't disappoint. Certainly seemed authentic and was yummy. My fave was a pork ragu dish served with mashed potatoes.

Amazing food. We had the cabbage rolls, beef stroganoff ( special of the day) and piroshke. This place looks so quaint. They have the best service. If you’re out this way Thursday-Sunday, stop in.

Let me start out by saying that I will never step foot in the establishment again.I only ate there because of a recommendation. The service was lacking. We had to get up out of our seats twice to ask for service. My wife and I ordered meals that were to have chicken in them. Her meal had absolutely no chicken, and my rice and chicken had 10 pieces of dark meat.Everything tasted as if it were prepared from a box or a can.We felt like what we ordered and received was way overpriced. Then, to beat all, we were overcharged for our meals.

Overpriced, meatless cabbage rolls! Menu says ground chicken and rice filled. 3 cabbage rolls- rice ONLY! My husband ordered chicken saute. He had pinto beans, a huge amount of rice with about 10 tiny pieces of dark chicken. Again, overpriced. They charged us for water too! We did enjoy the appetizer- Russian pierogis. But for 2 people, and the bill was $40!!! Appetizer was 4.99, both meals 14.99 each. First time eating here, and the last time eating there!!
