The staff is great dont get me wrong, this review is for how this bank particularly functions on the account level. Its insane that in 2023 a 3$ overdraft costs 10x that amount, why??? Why do some charges not allocate funds when you can clearly tell what transactions are pending, and that the overdrafts are also automatic, just make the transactions forcibly hold the money that its requiring until the transaction has cleared, why is that so hard??? Im going to wind up switching to chime and cashapp overall just due to them being easier to handle whats coming and going, and being able to mitigate certain things being allowed to take form my account, that arent important, rather than the ones that are and wont

ORNL was the only bank account I had for 13 years and today I closed my account due this bank becoming overly greedy, money hungry, and unreasonable. So, apparently if your card declines ORNL charges you a $35 fee. Not because they spotted you any money, but just because. I asked for an explanation of the purpose of the charge since they didn’t do anything for me. There isn’t an explanation. My card declined, therefore no purchase was made, and ORNL charges $35 for it just because. To make matters worse it was a declined FRAUDULENT charge anyways. It wasn’t even a purchase I was attempting to make. So, because I didn’t have enough money to get scammed, ORNL decided to scam me instead.

I have been trying all day to get in touch with a person at this Credit Union and I can never get through. So I tried the Chat and they send me to an attorney who wants $59.00 to tell me where to send the information I have to get my father's funds sent to the Estate Account. Which should be a fax number.

4 years ago my now decreased daughter that was stricken with Crohn's Disease for 22 of her 28 years wanted a car. So her Mom and I cosigned on the loan for her. The Hyundai GT had 900 miles on it in January of that year. 8 months later, in August, it had around 29,000 THOUSAND miles on it, a bullet hole in the DRIVER door and was spray painted with black zebra stripes. GUESS WHO didn't wanna pay for the "New car"? Kala Michele Lamb.So even before she died we knew we were paying off HER car. Automatic payments were coming out of an account to pay this off. Jun 22,pd. Jul22 , Aug 22 pd, Sept 22pd, Oct 22 . Nov 22. Dec 22 paìd. Oops, wait a sec. November 22 didn't say paid. Even though as is routine with every other month, the exact same AUTOMATIC PAYMENT PROCEDURES were followed. The check even shows RECEIVED in the correspondence, but because ORNL didn't process it in what SHOULD HAVE BEEN A TIMELY MANNER., this, my deceased daughters car loan has now been placed in the hands of an attorney that can add 1000s of dollars to this that I was OBVIOUSLY PAYING MONTHLY.So much door supporting a hard working Combat Veteran that merely trying to pay this damn thing off.Hug a Vet!

I have been dealing with money being drawn out of my account time and time again that is not authorized. This has caused many overdraft fees on top of that. I’ve tried calling the main customer service line only for them to never call in the 24 hour time frame they told me to expect. I went into this branch only to be told to call the same line I can’t get ahold of anyone with. Hundreds of dollars have been taken from me over the last few months and I can’t get help from anyone FOR MONTHS. ORNL used to be amazing but now I can’t even put money in my account without it being stolen and not being able to get anyone to handle this issue in person or over the phone.

My boyfriend and I just came to this bank and we never experience such bad customer service, with some woman name katy and we was trying to cash a check that had both our names on it and we had our id's and then Katy says "she only needs one ID! When we asked dose she need my ID she said, that my boyfriend account was responsible incase any money was due elsewhere... what ever that means?! She acted like she hated her job

I have been tossed around from department to department like a ping pong ball for the past 2 hours. Sad part is this isn't the first time this has happened. Horrible customer service. You'd be better off banking with a corporation who hates you.

I was uncomfortable after a call I had placed to the fraud center. So, I called the local call center instead to figure out what was happening with my account. Kelly in the call center did an excellent job. She spoke clearly and I could follow and understand what she was telling me.. My nerves about the situation is feeling much better now.She needs some kudos on an early Sunday morning. Thank you Kelly.

Car loan. I am purchasing a $26,000 vehicle; $11,997.00 Down and a loan from ORNL for $16,023.00 with a great interest rate. On 11/23/2021 we completed the loan process and were told by the WalMart branch in Oak Ridge,TN. More Than Once, the check would be mailed to Carvana WITH tracking info.. my car was supposed to be delivered on Nov 30th.. Carvana still has not received the check and it's Dec 2nd. Ive contacted ORNL again today and learned they mailed the check through regular mail, NO tracking info.. $16k, not tracked. Who does that?!?! If we needed to pay for Tracking we would have but nothing was said about that. ORNL also informed me they do not consider the check lost until after 30 days! It was to be mailed to Carvana in Nashville or Knoxville. ORNL does not even know where it was sent.I do not appreciate having been lied too about the tracking. I am upset they cannot even tell me where they mailed the check. I don't have a clue if I will even have my car by Christmas.SignedVery Disgruntled ORNL member!
