Based in Abingdon, Virginia, the company is committed to providing value in everything it does. For over 100 years the promise of unsurpassed level of quality and unbeatable prices has kept customers coming back. Food City offers conveniences such as pharmacy, fuel centers, curbside pickup and home delivery inside grocery stores. The stores are always clean, well stocked, and have friendly, helpful staff. Shoppers enjoy a large fresh deli, meat and bakery sections, a Starbucks, and an actual cashier available. Hot food such as fried chicken, mac and cheese and potato wedges is described as really tasty. The bakery helped customers get awesome birthday cupcakes. Prices and selection are not bad and the store feeds veterans for free on Veterans Day. Customers appreciate the higher standard that makes sure they get the absolute most for their money. While some wish for more store brand items and additional cold dips, the overall experience remains excellent and community oriented. The store keeps doors open with many customers that keep checks coming in.
Love this place and love people that work there..They are kind and generous. I've seen some of the cashiers give money when the people didn't have enough money to buy their food. Amazing people..

They generally have everything you're looking for. I sometimes use special ingredients for my meals which they don't have, but thats on me. Great store otherwise. Handicap friendly and friendly staff.

If you have a food city in your area, I have no idea why you'd ever go to Walmart. This place is excellent. Always clean. Got good Lunch food too, and feeds the veterans for free on Veterans Day.
