There is something for everyone at this place! There is so much to look at and buy and the prices are very low, especially compared to Goodwill! And they will help people if they need it, as well, with all kinds of necessities. I love this store. Just be advised that they are closed on Saturday because they have church (Seventh Day Adventists). If you like to thrift, you will not regret walking through the doors of the Samaritan Center, I assure you!!

I always find great deals here but you have to take your stuff back to your car each time you make a purchase. And there's three sections of the store, so you'll end up going back out to your car twice before it's over with. The security officer will track you down and treat you like a thief for not going back to your car for each section. I mean, seriously is there anything in that store worth stealing ? If they are stealing DONATED dollar clothing then maybe they need it more than the thrift store does.

This place is fantastic. The staff is great . Very friendly and helpful. I love the cashiers they are always so nice. Steve is my favorite. He does everything possible to help customers, loads furniture up perfectly and carefully, always happy. Chris is also wonderful, friendly, and will help you in any way possible. all of the staff is amazing . Great prices. Unlike other thrift stores. New items a couple times a day. Sometimes more. It's a treasure hunt. Sometimes you have to wait. Some days you leave with everything you came for and more ! If u don't get what you want , that's ok. Just come back. They always put out more. They help the community in so many ways. By far the best thrift store in the area ! ???????

We love coming to this place to shop. Prices are excellent and things are kept well organized. One fun thing is to be there at 3:00 pm when they shut down for 10 minutes as they bring in a new batch of items. Everyone has to stand back of a line during that time and then gets to go in and see what just came out of the sorting/storage area.

I love the Samaritan center. Though it is not my community I know that my money that I spend there goes into it that community there in Ooltewah to help people in need and that's a good feeling. There's usually plenty of stuff for everybody and sometimes on Sundays the lines out the door and down the sidewalkjust to get in the place . So that should say something about their popularity. They do bring out nice things the staff is very friendly and helpful especially the furniture guys I want to just shout out to Chris and to Steve back there and Gabe as well, they work hard to make sure that they're constantly moving that furniture and they're wonderful at helping you load. Steve has a really nice demeanor he's a soft-spoken kind, gentle person, and he's just really nice he'll do everything he can to make sure that what I purchased can be put in the back of my vehicle. We've tried all kinds of ways and made it work every time.. Chris ,well he's just like a fixture in that store. He's been there for a long, long time he's a very good person. He's got a good heart and a good soul and he doesn't mind helping either. They all three load your stuff for you with nothing but the utmost care. If you can back up the ramp for will call. I can do it but they know it's a little iffy with me, lol. I manage to try to go a couple of times a week just because I know they get some of the best donations that I've ever seen in any thrift store and their prices are so reasonable that they're affordable for most anybody. I can't say so for their competitors they're not affordable anymore. I will hope that the Samaritan center continues to stay the way that it is and doesn't rise in prices like the rest of the thrift stores all around have. Taking the fun out of saving money by shopping there. I'll be back next week to see what good things they have in store. I'm sure I will find something I always do. If you've never been you need to check it out. It's just really interesting and there are plenty of treasures to be found.

I love this place! They are absolutely all about helping people! They make things affordable- furniture, clothes, etc. Unlike other major organizations that keep raising their prices and gouging what they can get out of you for the least used thing. Thank you Samaritan Center for helping me furnish my apartment for so little money! And also for your kindness and smiles!

The manager shut off the lights in the dressing room without warning and then would not turn them back on so I could change back into my own clothes. She made the announcement that the dressing rooms were closing after she’d already shut off the lights and I kindly requested I be able to change. The dressing rooms are enclosed and pitch black without lights. I had to take my cell phone in there and use the flashlight so I could see.

I love the Samaritan Center and take my donations there. BUT my experience today was RIDICULOUS. They have three sections you pay at, and they want you to take your bag to the car in between each purchase “due to theft” and “possible profit loss”. (Of donations!!) They won’t hold your bags behind counter either. Because “the employees might steal your purchase and do you want to risk that?” (The lady in the office said!) SERIOUSLY! You don’t trust your employees to not steal customers bags!!! And personally, if someone is stealing a donated shirt or pair of shoes out of need- how sad and disgusting that they are overly concerned of losing a profit over a donated item. Even strip malls with high end merchandise that the company has invested money into to sell doesn’t treat customers like thieves.

This was my first visit and I found 2 things I wanted with no price. A worker came to the back of the store telling everyone to come up front so they could stock. I asked her the price of these 2 things and she said to leave the area and come back in 15 minutes and ask. My break this time is only 15 minutes. Why could I not get a price and get in line like everyone else? They don't need me as a customer.

I have been a customer of the Samaritan Center for years. I always enjoyed my experience there. I live In the Signal Mtn. area , therefore travel several miles to shop there. The last time I was there I went to the section on the left as I walked in, made a purchase, and then started to go to the less expensive section in right.A security guard came up behind me , telling me I couldn't enter until I took my other purchase to the car. I rode with a relative and didn't have keys to the car. I had no other choice than to sit and wait. I abide by rules, but was puzzled and disappointed to see that some weren't held to this policy. It was rather humiliating to witness a "double standard ". I can't imagine any similar store so over zealous in the treatment of thsir patrons. Charlotte Ritchey

I enjoy shopping here, always find a treasure of some kind. With that being said they have a new rule that after visiting one side, paying and getting a receipt you’re supposed to take your items to the car before you go to the other side or toy room. I went to the clearance part, bought a couple items and then took my daughter to the toy room. Somebody radioed the worker in the toy room to tell me to take my bags to the car! Really strange in my opinion!

I love this place! They help the community and they have incredibly good prices. Everyone is nice every time we come in. They sometimes have classes that benefit the community as well. Thank you for everything you do.

Good name, but unfortunately not relevant the way they do business. Used boots $60… they get stuff for free and selling for a lot! But very little, sometimes not at all help to locals who need help…
