The overall experience of my boys and husband making their own knives here was really great. The blacksmiths were terrific with the kids! However, I made reservations over the phone 2 weeks in advance and showed up to no reservation on their books. They keep a paper appointment book and the front office is very chaotic. The ladies working up front certainly had a lot going on, but were also incredibly rude. We stood around and waited, as I was confident I made the appointment for our son's 15th birthday. They eventually penciled us in and the positive experience with the blacksmiths saved the day! This is a very popular place in Pigeon Forge and would benefit from moving to an electronic appointment system for their multiple locations.

Had the most amazing experience here! Got to meet Robby what a great man! From the reservation clerk to the man who helped make the knife, all the staff were amazing here! Friendly and welcoming. This is a must do here in Pigeon Forge TN.

This is a must when taking your family on vacation in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area!! Make sure you make your reservations in advance as they book up. Our boys age 10 and 12, our daughter age 23, and ourselves had a great time learning about and forging our own knives. When you are done you have made your very own souvenir!! Definitely recommend!!

Wonderful experience all around! My boyfriend and I both made the railroad spike twist knife and had the best time! Highly recommend if you’re a fan of the craft, really makes me want my own forge!

Was a cool experience they answered any questions I had. Understand some of the bad reviews are from not getting to do the whole knife start to finish. Have to understand that they have a lot of people that want the experience. It is an experience for the cost of the knife basically. The knife you do won't come out perfect it will have small imperfections as that would take more time. I love the small imperfections it gives character and makes it unique. LOVED DOING THIS ! The staff in the forge and in the store were great.

Very fun experience was hoping to get a bit more of a customization to my knife for the $85 a piece i paid for it. But what ever, it's also not sharp, but i can fix that very easily. Other than that! It was a great time and experience! Will def go back next time i go

We took our kids to forge their first knives at Iron Mountain Metal Craft and they had a great time. Price seemed reasonable at about $45/kid (that price includes our tip) to forge the pony shoe. I wish I would’ve gotten the guys name who helped my kids so that I could recognize him here, he was knowledgeable, patient and explained every step well. It was apparent in the way the workers conducted themselves that safety was a priority. The owner (from Forged in Fire) was in the shop helping customers just as the other forgers. I liked the set up so that even though we weren’t helping the kids, we could watch from the side. The only thing that would make it better IMO is if they allowed the customers to perform the sanding at the end. Mine were fine with not sanding, but if I were making one I would’ve enjoyed taking part in that process. Overall, I would recommend Iron Mountain Metal Crafts and I would visit again.

The was one of the coolest experiences! We came here with another family, and all 6 of our kids (ages 5-15) made knives. Everyone was so kind and helpful and GREAT with the kids! We were all very impressed and will definitely be back whenever these Texans make it back to Tennessee!

Let me start with no! I had no desire to do this, but hubs booked at appointment for the entire crew! So, when in "Forge," right? Therefore, I went to the forge and picked my horseshoe. We did three of the four options. They were wonderfully patient with our 12 and under. He loved it. I strongly recommend it for children 7 and over. It isn't easy, but challenging, and then the child will be old enough to remember. Hubs picked a challenging one, and had a great time. I did the adult horseshoe, and felt accomplished. When we finished we also personalized it with engraving. Book early, and do it with friends!

We watched our son make a knife from a horseshoe. Our son comes over and watches Forged in Fire with dad. He has always wanted to make a knife. It turned out great. He loved the experience.

If you have ever consider doing blacksmithing, here is your chance. The instructors are patient, skilled and really good teachers with people that don't have a clue.Reservations are a good idea as they fill up quickly. You pick out what you want to make, listen to your smith's instructions and about an hour later, you have a knife.Sounds easy enough, but it is work. When they bring the hot metal out of the forge and tell you to start hammering, they mean HAMMERING.So, I got to live out my blacksmith dream and realized that blacksmithing, as a profession, is no joke. Great fun and really enjoyable result.

Dylan, Andrew, and Brody were awesome! They gave us the exact information we needed and we had a good time learning how to hammer. It was definitely a unique experience with different levels of knives you can choose from. It was about a half hour experience. If you are ever in the old mill and you want to forge good mementoes with family take the time to Iron Mountain Metal Craft at the Old Mill Village.

I've always wanted to start my own Forge, and when I found out Iron Mountain Metal Craft shows you how to Forge your own knife. These guys deserve more than 5 stars. I had the pleasure of working with Dylan on forging a Railroad spike knife. Absolutely amazing experience!!
