Red Boiling Springs was once a hot-spot destination for its healing sulfur baths, & I’m glad to say that I’ve finally been able to try one. Armour’s Hotel, while definitely dated, has a charm that’s incomparable to big chains. My wife & I loved the mineral bath & vibroacoustic relaxing room. The owners were nothing but kind, cordial & prompt. This is the type of bucolic couples getaway that we needed.

Just did the spa mineral bath. It was amazing, relaxing, and cleansing. The owners were very polite and there was an amazing smell coming from the dining area... made me super hungry... like grandma's house used to be.

Couldn't have been happier. Their service & attention to details was outstanding. In a world that is loud & fast this took us back to quite & simple times. People, conversation, heartfelt, faithful family. As a USMC Vet & 30 Chef I was thankful for their honest service. Their food was all local, fresh, clean & worked with my wife's dietary restrictions. The gentleman who welcomed us in, as well as the young man couldn't have been more genuine & sincere. Our #27 room not only had fresh, clean, warm sheets. It also came with a handwritten note to us regarding our 30th wedding anniversary. True homes have love in them. Their mission was complete!Semper Fi, carpe diem & Laus Deo.

Staff is wonderful, enjoyed the mineral bath(especially after you get used to the smell). Hope to see updates to this beautiful place. Would definitely recommend for a quite get away.Rooms: Bathrooms are very small and sink needs to be a bit higher up(think they were made for very short people). Comfortable bed covers.Nearby activities: Not many.Food & drinks: Only one local restaurant

We have been going here for several years. Since ownership has changed, we will no longer be back. We are early risers and all the coffee pots are on timers. The water is room temp tap water with rocks to say it’s “filtered”. Signed up for a massage but got a vibrating mattress. This place went from being a home to the cheapest way to scam ppl out of money. If you want a good breakfast, I suggest just going to the gas station down the road. The first day my husband couldn’t eat bc he is diabetic. The only option was a dessert. The next day I couldn’t eat bc of eggs. Instead I got oatmeal with fruit but not able to have anything with seeds. The owner acted as if it was an inconvenience for him bc we weren’t going to play Russian roulette with our health. There wasn’t a list of choices to choose from. It was what him and his wife wanted to cook on the cheapest way possible. If you want a warm place to sleep at night this would be ok but don’t expect anything more. It used to have a welcome home feel, now it is ‘I wonder if I will get charged for flushing the toilet’ kind of feel. And you will never see his wife. It’s a weird eery feeling there now. Hopefully it will get new owners soon and be like home again.

Delightful hotel like visiting grandmas house. Yes there is a sulfur odor in the lobby but thats what the springs are known for. Dinner was excellent, unfortunately never made breakfast but sounded delicious. Hosts were lovely and very welcoming.

This darling B&B is reminiscent of the "good ole days". The days when hospitality really meant catering you the guest's needs (especially dietary.) The owners are delightful and knowledgeable. The chef is also a Naturopath & creatively made many delicious vegan meals for us. The were also very accommodating with last-minute reservations. The spa was so relaxing. We especially enjoyed the special baths with water bubbling up from Red Boiling Springs. This is the only hotel in the area that still pumps in the water for treatments. The rooms are small, but that just added to the charm. We will be back!

We slept peacefully on comfortable beds in a vintage room. We woke to the sound of birds chirping outside in the flower garden. The common areas were tastefully decorated and offered sitting areas and a chessboard. The front porch and upstairs balcony were also pleasant. The owners were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious.

I don't know how these people could charge guests for these rooms. This was a tiny room and the sink was actually just a sink with no room for even a toothbrush and it was in the room not in the bathroom. As we went in the front there was a sewer smell so we wouldn't even eat there. We had reservations for 2 nights but after the first night we got up and left at 6:30. Sure hate we didn't know all this before we went. Spent good money for a very bad experience. Your pictures and advertising is very deceiving.

Great little B&B with mineral springs bath package available. It had amenities to meet our needs. Comfortable bed. Tiny water-closet (toilet and shower). Restaurant for dinner and complimentary breakfast. The quinoa dish at dinner was fantastic, as were the oats for breakfast. The pork was a bit dry. They happily met my dietary restrictions (gf, no dairy) and presented alternatives seamlessly. The spa package was well worth it, with relaxation therapy beds and a mineral bath in a big tub. It's a creaky old building, and you can hear everything, but it's comfortable and welcoming. The community feel of the dining room means you can meet other guests and that sparks good conversation.

After driving six hours from NC to Armour, we arrived at 2:30pm on a Friday. Unbeknownst to us, that area of TN is on Central Time, so one hour behind NC. We were thirty-minutes early for the 3:00 check-in. My friend went to the front door and it was locked. There was a man inside but he did not look like he wanted to come to the door. She was getting ready to ring the bell, when he finally came over, opened the door and said "Check-in is at 3:00. We are not ready yet". Then he closed the door in her face and locked it; leaving her standing in the cold. So we sat in the freezing car for an additional thirty-minutes before being able to check-in. That was not a very hospitable start to our stay. The exterior of the building, and the grounds need attention. The interior has antiques and cool memorabilia to look at. We enjoyed the "library" room to play cards. Our room was much smaller than it appeared in the photos; old, dated and needs to be renovated. The bathroom was tiny with the sink in the bedroom. The tub/shower was half the size of a typical tub/shower and in poor shape. The shower stream hit me in my chest and I am only 5"6. Trying to rinse my hair was unsafe with all the bending and twisting in the wet tub trying to get my head under the water. A removable, hand-held shower head would resolve this issue, and provide for a safer showering experience. There were no funky smells in the room, that was a plus. Two out of three of our meals were delicious. I do feel it should be disclosed on their website that the mineral water for the spa soaks is ice cold coming into the tub. Therefore, you have to mix it with hot city water. As far as I am concerned, that defeats the purpose of the natural water soak. There are two tubs. One tub is clearly the newer version and was comfortable for me. I could stretch out my legs, lie back and almost have my body fully submerged. The second, older tub is a disaster; too short and not as deep. Therefore, much of your body is exposed to the cold air. Both tubs steadily leaked water from the stopper area, with the older tub leaking quickly. This required having to repeatedly turn the water spigots back on to refill the tub, and to keep the water hot. That defeated being able to just lie back, relax and enjoy the soak. The first mineral soak we had on Friday evening, the room temperature felt comfortable when we disrobed to get in the tubs, and during the soak. However, the room was quite cold the following day for our second soak. I do not think he bothered to turn the heat on in the tub room. It was uncomfortable to disrobe and to soak. I was in the old tub for my second soak so that probably contributed to my discomfort, since half my body was not submerged in the water. My friend and I both enjoyed the acoustic/bio-mat beds. That room was warm and the beds were relaxing. I did not find the owner friendly. Leaving us to wait in the cold before we could even enter the building was unacceptable. He also did not provide an explanation for the spa processes. Then when we would ask a question, he would appear annoyed. When dining we would arrive in the dining room and sit for 10-15 minutes without him acknowledging that we were there, although I know he saw us, there was no one there but us. There was only one other guest while we were there, and that was someone just sleeping for the night. You would think that customer service would have been an easy feat with it just being us there, but it was not. I felt like we were more of an annoyance to the owner, rather than welcomed guests. I was torn on giving three stars, which would have been too generous. I decided on the two-stars because of being made to wait outside for 30-minutes in the cold, rather than being invited to wait in the warm lobby. I find that confusing behavior from someone in the "hospitality" business. I am far from persnickety in my expectations, but I find the five-star reviews for this establishment baffling. I wish it had been a five-star experience. I hope they make improvements.

It is a very old hotel with a great grandma house feel. The owner was very hospitable and the food was wonderful . It is very dated but clean. The old linens were like your grandmothers soft sheets and comfortable . Don’t expect a Marriott experience but keep an open mind and enjoy the history behind it. Pleasant atmosphere and quiet . Spent most of weekend driving into Nashville but would be a good place to unwind for some leisure time
