The Donoho Hotel is a nice, quiet place in downtown Red Boiling Springs. Built in 1914, it is a historic hotel over 100 years old, filled with old furniture and character. Rooms are small, clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced, with suites also available. The hotel has interesting history, including a past presidential stay. The hotel is known for its very good meals served family style. There is no menu; they bring out bowls of what they cooked for the day, such as fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and desserts like peach cobbler. It is all-you-can-eat, home-style cooking where no one should leave hungry. Pricing for food and rooms is very reasonable. Breakfast is delicious and hot, with great coffee. Some food is great, though other foods can be bland. Nearby activities within walking distance include city parks, creeks, fishing, hiking, and nature, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel has a long porch with rocking chairs. Sometimes there is live music on weekends or for special occasions, which is great entertainment. The staff is friendly, pleasant, and goes out of their way to make visits memorable, making guests feel welcome.
