Ribs were not smoked, just baked and covered with barbecue sauce, but still very tender. Primavera was very good. Fries were on the salty side, but hot and crisp. Cole slaw was mayo/vinegar based. The peach cobbler was a nice consistency, not as sweet as expected. Servers were very young, reasonably attentive. We live nearby, so we'll be back.

Went to Amis Mill with some friends and sat on the heated patio (February). The view of the dam and Big Creek was beautiful and the atmosphere was friendly. I just had a salad, but was very generous and delicious. Prices were reasonable. Next time I'm saving room for some peanut butter pie!?Parking: The parking lot is sloped, but then this IS eastern Tennessee...everything is on a slope! Gravel lot, no problems maneuvering. Great historic venue in beautiful setting.

To start i got the queso n chips, the queso was definitely from a can. I also got the blackened salmon wich looked and tasted like something you would get from a dollar general meat department if they had one. The queso and macaroni was definitely from the same can the chips and queso was from. Its been a couple of years since I ate there it used to be an upscale place to go.

My husband and I drove 75 miles to have lunch here recently. The place looked like it was being run by kids. I never saw a manager. We ate outside on a deck which was nice. There is a nice view of the water. Inside the music was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself. The girl who waited on us had shorts on that were so short, her butt was literally hanging out. The location is so pretty and our food wasn’t bad although the people next to us got up and left. Their food was burned. This is a great location but I think it needs a little better management.

This place is delightful in atmosphere, food, and service. The only thing that I believe could have been better was the serving size for the broccoli. I would not have mentioned this, except that I noticed that this wasn't just my experience. The photos taken by other customers show the same. I don't know if other portions of other sides are like this, but I had four pieces of broccoli, and it left my plate looking a little chintsy. I also had Brussel sprouts, and that portion was adequate. The smothered chicken and chopped steak were great, and so was the bread and cabbage and chicken soup. The broccoli--very strange.

A nice quiet place to walk around. The food was good, but the cole slaw was bland. The staff was nice. We happened to run into the owner when we were walking around property. He gave us some interesting information about the history of how Mr. Amis was given the 1000 acres by the army.

Amis Mill Eatery is the cutest restaurant! It's a bit off the beaten path which just adds to the charm. We walked in and were immediately greeted enthusiastically by the staff. Our server made wonderful recommendations from their extensive menu. Everything looked so good, we had to try it all! We got 3 appetizers: fried pickles, fried mozzarella and the queso and chips. The queso was by far my favorite. And the homemade chips were thinly sliced and amazingly seasoned potatoes. I ordered the salmon and it had a delicious sauce on it, with the queso Mac for my side. Again, yum! Don't sleep on the queso! My son got ribs and they were legit fall off the bone. I mean the bones looked as if they'd been licked clean just by using a fork to pull the meat off. He said they were the best ribs he's ever had. My husband got a HUGE steak and he loved it. My daughter got a kid's chicken strip meal, and got 2 meals out of it (she's 5). We finished off our experience with a slice of peanut butter pie, and there were all but fights to get to the last bites! Our service was excellent throughout our meal, and the price was reasonable, and by reasonable I mean they should charge more! We will for sure be back! When I find a meal I like, I tend to order it every time I eat at that restaurant. I don't intend to do that at Amis Mill because there are so many delicious sounding items on the menu. Now that I know the quality of the food, I can't wait to try them all!
