The room was clean although it smelled like BO which we remedied by opening the windows to get some fresh air which fixed the problem. When I booked the room originally, I was told there was one king size bed room left which I booked right then and there and expected to get when I arrived. I was given a room with two double beds which I realized when my husband and I were suddenly almost hanging off the bed. When I brought this to their attention, the lady (the same one I booked with in person) got an attitude and told me she actually did me a favor and that they didn’t have any other rooms because there was an event going on. Although her attitude wasn’t pleasant, she did offer a small discount. The hotel is relatively nice; situated on a golf resort so the accompanying snootiness was all there. There aren’t many options in the area so I had to settle since I had a CFI checkride at the Sewanee Airport and this was the closest spot. The restaurant has no vegan food as we asked.

I have never been to the area and when I was told to stay at the Sewanee Inn, I had to no idea what to expect. As soon as I walked in, I was in shock about how amazing it looked. Service was excellent, food was great, hotel was so clean, and accomodating. I would love to go back there!
Rooms: Great size and very nice

We stopped here overnight after doing the Jack Daniel’s Distillery tour. It was a great experience overall. We enjoyed a first rate dinner with drinks and great service. After dinner we enjoyed being able to relax on the front patio with a fire pit table. Seeing a couple of close up touchdowns from the emergency room helicopter was an unexpected event. Hopefully whoever they were transporting is fine. The rooms were really nice, very quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The only downsides to our stay were the banana bread pudding (they need to completely redo that recipe) and the slipperiness of the showers. Falling in the shower is never a good time and hand rails or something on the shower floor would be a great addition to the bathroom. Hopefully before someone else falls and gets hurt.

The Sewanee Inn is a great option if you’re visiting the area. It has a lovely lobby with a fire place and lots of cozy chairs to lounge in. The restaurant and bar was lively from 4pm to close and everyone working was very friendly and helpful. I love that there are trails you can walk to and they have bikes to take out. It would have been even more fabulous if they had spa services! My only critique was the beds/ pillows are too soft. Otherwise book your stay!Rooms: Very nice and comfortableNearby activities: Hiking, golf, tennis, bikingWalkability: You can walk all around Sewanee so you can see a lot without a car. Trails, golf, university…

I photographed a wedding at Sewanee Inn a week ago. The venue was beautiful, all of the people were lovely and kind. The Inn is gorgeous, the food was wonderful... I loved the extra touches like the sugar scrub in the bathroom, the lemon water and coffee in the lobby, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff... there's not a single thing I could complain about. It was truly lovely.

We dined for dinner recently, and were frankly blown away at how wonderful our meals were. The pork meatloaf was so unique and fabulous. My friend got the lambchops in a pasta broth that was outstanding. The service was fabulous too. We will back again and again.
