Shiloh Book Store is located in a beautiful park with lots to see and learn. The site is a collection of wooded groves and fields along the Tennessee River, which was the site of a decisive battle. The battle was spread out over several miles, which can make it a bit hectic to understand what exactly was happening where during a car tour. However, there are maps provided and plenty of signage to explain what happened in each location. The visitor's center features an interesting and informative film that teaches visitors a great deal. The junior ranger book available is very thorough and informative, requiring more work and research than books at other parks, and is educational for both children and interested adults. The primary source of high praise in reviews is for a specific park ranger, described as a gentleman, a philosopher, and a storyteller. This guide provides not just a superficial understanding but the true significance and context of the event, connecting facts with heart. He is called a paragon of truth, equanimity, and wisdom. Taking a walking tour with this ranger is highly recommended for a great and beneficial experience.
