I started going to the Gold's Gym in Smyrna TN about a month and half ago. The work out equipment is fine but I never see the staff clean it and they collect an annual change to update the facility and I don't see it being used to update the facility or clean the bathrooms. The bathroom are dirty and the ceiling vents are covered with dirt. There are areas around the sinks in the bathroom that are covered with rust. I thought the Planet Fitness in Smyrna was bad but this gym is worst and more expensive.

I come to the gym to workout and de-stress. But recently charities have been stopping you coming in and out of the doors as you come in. It may be a little inconsiderate of me, but I have money that automatically comes out of my paycheck for a foundation I support. I don’t like them approaching me and trying to stop me before leaving. They are literally walking in front of people blocking the door before they leave. It’s ridiculous

Gym is okay. I only go for Zumba! Akiko is the best Zumba instructor I’ve ever had. I’ve never sweated and burned so many calories in one class! She is amazing!!!! She will give you an amazing work out that is so much fun you won’t even know you’re working out! My happy hour ❤️

They make it really hard to cancel your membership. I tried to cancel and I go there and the employee is not able to help me cancel. I was told only the manager. Manager need to teach every employees. Manager is barely there. I was given the manger phone number. I called and text. Never got a response back. I can’t cancel over the phone or online. They really want your money. Another issue, It used to be 24/7… not anymore.

This gym is poorly ran, the management shouldn’t be in manager roles. Lauren, is condescending and thinks she’s better than everyone. They can’t keep staff because they lie and blame everything on staff instead of taking blame. When they get a terrible review or constructive criticism they look to blame others. The sales are done and it’s no wonder, look at the management and the head of the snake. If the gym isn’t running well, sales are low, that’s a reflection on management first and foremost. Hopefully they decide to eventually hire people who care about the staff and members, until then they will keep going downhill.

Weights and machines are great. The equipment is almost never open to use though because it is so packed - unless you can go in the early mornings before 6.

I have had my gold's membership for at least 3 years prob more. I had the member fee automatically drafted from my account never missed. I had not used my membership for quite sometime and inquired about cancelling. They told me there was no one there that could do it that I needed to call back. I called back a few times with no answers. Then I thought, I'll just keep it and start using it. My account the bill was drafting from was compromised and they did not get one bi-weekly payment. You would think having a member that long with no missed payments, they would at least give a courtesy call but no they just sent it straight to collections. Called a few times to talk about it with Gold's I was unable to get through to anyone. All the while they forwarded 2 more payments to collections. I did not have a contract and was unsuccessful trying to cancel previously. The least they could have done was call me to let me know they couldn't get my payment and I would have just paid it or prob cancelled at that time. I will never get another membership will a big gym. They do not treat their members respectfully.

The gym equipment is falling apart, its always overcrowded, and to cancel you have to go in during the week to talk to a manager or mail then a letter via certified mail. And even then, canceling is a 30 day process so they still bill you for another month. Waste of time, waste of money. At least make it easy to cancel if you're not going to take care of your gym.

The place is dirty, sauna smells horrible. I understand people sweats in there but i have been going there for over a year and it’s never been disinfected. I brought it up to management and they have done nothing about it.

Gym is nice enough, housekeeping of locker rooms could be better. Equipment stays damaged for a long time. Biggest problem with this gym is that it used to be 24/7, and the night shift crew would not unlock the doors at 3:00/4:00 AM. Now the gym is not 24/7, and the 4:00 AM staff still does not show up on time. I am currently waiting outside of the gym at 4:30 as I write this for the second time this month.

Joined a couple weeks ago. Helpful staff. I go early mornings and it's not crowded. Haven't used all the equipment yet, but what I have used is in good working order. Can't beat it for the $16/mo special I got.

I really enjoy the zumba classes here and I've heard good things about the other classes. However, they don't offer class by class payment (a standard at most gyms). I have a lot of friends who would love to go, but can't because it isn't worth them investing in a whole membership when they only want to go to one class (They are seriously missing out on a whole client base).
