We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay in Townsend. The Talley Ho was perfectly located for easy access to Cades Cove, Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and the Great Smoky Mountains. The room provided a large dressing area at the bathroom with plenty of space to hang your clothes & open your suitcase. The trail through Townsend goes right in front of the hotel. The staff was super friendly & accommodating. We had a pet friendly room & you are provided bowls, treats & accessories for your pet’s stay. Quite a nice touch. The room was very clean & the bed was super comfortable.

Should be an option for zero stars! Bugs everywhere in the rooms! Bathrooms smell like an uncleaned truck stop toilet and disintegrating stained toilet seat on the toilet. Staff would not do anything about the bugs or change our sheets. Front counter staff was extremely rude!

Excellent room for the price. No breakfast offered and I had to pay extra to get a room with a refrigerator and microwave. The room was clean and safe. We did have to put some towels in the skylight over the entry door to help darken the room as it provided too much light at night which interfered with our sleep. The location was outstanding. Yes, we will stay here again.

Beautiful location and grounds. Rooms are large and spacious. I love the fact that the bathroom has a sink and there's also a little getting ready area with another sink, so two people can brush teeth and get dressed at the same time. Staff is always friendly and helpful. You're within walking distance (a couple of miles) of multiple restaurants, tubing, and more, all with great sidewalks on the edge of the Smokies up and down both sides of the road. And of course, you're only 8-9 miles from the beautiful Cades Cove. One thing they need to make clear: daily room service is no longer provided. You need to place trash outside for pickup and ask at the lobby to swap your towels or hang them and reuse them. Personally, I really like those changes. I don't need a maid to make my bed and sweep or wipe down my room every single day. I really just want fresh washcloths and I'll hang my towels to dry.Rooms: Large and spacious, many with a private deck or patio, and a separate "getting ready" are with a mini fridge and microwave and sink, in addition to a bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower.Nearby activities: Lots to do: Cades Cove, horseback riding at Davy Crockett Stables, tubing, Tuckaleechee Caverns, etc.Walkability: Great sidewalks let you walk to restaurants and activities within a couple of miles.Food & drinks: Unfortunately, the onsite restaurant Carriage House has shut down. Definitely walk or drive to Trailhead Steak and Trout House for AMAZING food. Walk to Burgermaster for great burgers and ice cream, or Riverstone Restaurant for Frog Legs and other country cooking. There's a new distillery almost across the street that I didn't get a chance to test out, and The Abbey and another new brewery further down with great drinks and pub food.

It's an older motel, but our room was nicely furnished and it seemed freshly painted. Large well furnished clean rooms with patios. Nice pool. Great location.

Family owned and a large property with rooms of different sizes and houses to stay in. Rooms are close to events like car shows. The property is spacious, though a little hilly in places.

The best night's sleep I've had in years! This place is built of steel and concrete so unlike most hotels, you don't hear noise from adjacent rooms and hallways.Beautiful views and very clean and quiet.

I stayed here this past weekend and really enjoyed my experience at the Tally Ho. The price was reasonable and the rooms were very clean, modern, and updated. The beds were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the beautiful view from our room. Staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to staying again sometime in the future!Rooms: Rooms are spacious and comfortable, equipped with a mini fridge and microwave!

Overall, I recommend this inn. The biggest downside is that their internet service is spotty. They did warn of this when we checked in. We have TMobile and our phones did not work well in the area either. Download your maps ahead of time. This is a great, local inn. We checked in at the main building. There is a covered area at the front of the main building where you can temporarily leave your car while you check in. This inn provides fairly large keys to unlock you door. We stayed in the king, jacuzzi room. This is one of their more expensive rooms. Their prices are comparable to Airbnb's and hotels in the area. The rooms are dated but well maintained and clean. Our room had a jacuzzi, that is very noisy. The timer control is on the wall near the bed along with posted instructions. There is a fireplace with gas logs. You turn on with a timer to the left of the mantle. The shower had good pressure. There was plenty of hot water. There was a small fridge, microwave and single serve coffee pot. There was back patio with chairs where you can sit in the morning and listen to the local rooster off of our bedroom. You do not hear the rooster inside the room. There is not daily cleaning service. If you need more towels or coffee you check in at the front desk. Their rooms are located within 2 story buildings on their property. They do not have stairs but ramps that switchback so good for strollers, wheeled suitcases and wheelchairs. The inn does have a swimming pool. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. You should definitely drive the Little River Gorge Road. Turn right out of the inn parking lot and go .2 miles and you will pass a sign for the Smoky mountain National Park. It is one of the most beautiful, scenic roads we have driven. Lots of spots to pull off and enjoy nature.

My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend. This is the cutest little hotel! The service was amazing!!! The room was cozy. We loved the gas logs. I had no issues with my phone service in this location. This is our new go to place for a nice weekend away.

The beds were a little uncomfortable, but the service was excellent and the location is amazing. I am terrible with names, so I don't remember the name of the guy at the front desk, but he was super friendly and I would stay here again just for his pleasant demeanor!
