Horrible service. Store is crowded with boxes in the aisles. Store is dirty. Stand in line for a minimum of 20 minutes. I would not recommend this DG.

On 11-24-23 at 9:45 PM, I bought 10 small bottles of paint, two big bottles of paint, 1 large canvas, and 2 medium sized canvases.The medium sized canvases are $3.50, the large one is $5.50.The woman at the register started ringing up the canvases first, and rang the large one up (3) times. It was supposed to be 1 large canvas and 2 smaller ones. I pointed this out to her halfway through her ringing up the paints and she SHOOSHED me, and said "I don't want to go get my boss to change it."At this point, I thought she was joking, so I waited till the end of her ringing the paints up. She told me the total (which is $5 more than it's supposed to be) and I explained again about the size and prices of the canvases.Again, she shooshed me repeatedly, and said she didn't want to get her boss.I asked her if she was joking, and with a attitude she said "No."I told her to go get her boss.She said "really?"I said that I wasn't paying an extra $5 dollars because she rang it up wrong, and to again, go get her boss.At this point, I just really couldn't believe what just happened. Anyways, she comes back with her boss, and I tell her boss that she told me that she "Didn't want to get her boss to change it." And that she shooshed me repeatedly.The boss did not even acknowledge me. Didn't say a word, didn't look at me.I'm dumbfounded.All the while the cashier is trying to make up a story that she was confused. Uh, no, that's definitely NOT what happened.The boss left and the cashier said the total is right now.I knew it wasn't, based on the total and said there must be an extra paint.She said no, they are all rang up correctly, to which I responded, "No, I want to count them."I was rung up for one extra paint.She said "I guess I'll go get my boss again."Uh.... yeah???Boss came, didn't look at me, changed it again.Finally I paid for the paints and canvases and left.Keep in mind, I was calm through this whole ordeal, until I realized she wasn't joking. Even then, I didn't make a scene, I didn't yell, didn't cuss, even tho I was infuriated that a cashier was trying to charge me an extra $5 "because she didn't want to go get her boss" and the manager didn't care at all.So Dollar General, you really need to take a look at who is working for you. Both your cashiers and managers.

Like most dollar stores, this one offers an array of general merchandise at low prices. This particular location is the same, although it had a reputation for being a mess, they have done much to improve the store's presentation and it is looking better than it used to. Local rumor is they are preparing to open a new location about 1-2 miles south on the same road and closing this one. That new building appears to be nearing completion.

Always a good experience when I go to the dollar general store! The only issue I have with the store (and I'd assume I'm not alone on this) is there is always and I mean always have some kind of UNPACKED MERCHANDISE in the aisles!!!
