I am writing this review as a warning to others not to waste their time banking with volunteer bank. We opened 3 accounts with volunteer bank in White House 3Yrs ago. We have now closed all of our accounts and moved to another bank. The manager at the White House branch Rhonda Briley Is very disrespectful , rude and does not care about keeping customers waiting while she chats with her family or the other coworkers. My husband and I went into speak with Rhonda and not only did she keep us waiting while she spoke to her son and grandson she kept gesturing to her kid as we spoke letting him know she would be done with us shortly making us feel rushed when we were there as customers. Daniel Greer along with Rhonda are both managers but are unaware of current bank policies! Both of these managers DO NOT follow thru. Daniel was suppose to call us several weeks ago. Did we hear from him, NO! I had another review that I was going to put up that went into detail about the entire situation but decided to take that section out however if the bank would like to know exactly what happened I would be willing to speak to them.

I am from out of state and needed a cash advance on a debit card, fully backed by VISA. I do not have an account at VSB, but had ten times the amount I need in the account.The teller I went to was rude and unhelpful, even though I was fully paying their required fees and had full ID. When I did get the cash through their ATM, she refused to change the $20s to bigger bills.She acted like I was a thief, and told me to go across the street to First Horizon! That is the last time I will darken their door.

As someone that goes to work early and stays late they really need to add a deposit option to their atms. They are the only bank that doesn’t have it as an option. Their overdraft fees are ridiculous. I can’t wait till I can close my account with them and open a new one some where much better.

I have been banking here for 3 years and love the people who work hear but due to the Covid 19 my work has came to a stop I became negative in my account and not only they are charging me over 300 in nsf fees but also 5 dollars a day I’m negative so almost 400 in overdraft of fees I asked if they can work with me they said they can’t. Not a great way to help in a crisis.

They are quite simply the best! Especially the White House location. Everyone is so nice and helpful. When they smile and say hello, it's like going home. We never miss the yearly open house with nice food, beverages, and of course, Santa.

If I could give this bank a minus star I would. I travel for a living and this banks mobile banking is a joke, always have trouble logging in, can't get my balance, pay bills or anything. I I Inform them I'm going out of state or the country and my bank card will not work. Small town banking at its best. Horrible, horrible bank

All banks are dealing in the same thing, U.S. currency. So what makes one bank better than the other. Fees and customer service. Volunteer State Bank has reasonable fees and outstanding customer service. They do not have different tellers every week like some banks. The same people have been there for years and guess what they actually know your name. This makes a difference to me in this day of no personal service and computers answering the phones.
