Have been with First Financial for many years and appreciate their great service. However, the branch located at the HEB location, leaves a lot to be desired. Rude, incompetent and treated my husband with such disrespect, as he was merely trying to make a deposit. His id and check to deposit, was passed around, among the clerks. As they looked at his ID, at our account, then back to looking at him, he asked if there was a problem. Was told no, but had to go into a back room,to check on something. The clerk brought along a second person, who said that she would let us deposit the check, but it would be held for two days, before it could be used on our account. I'm not one to accuse someone, of being racist, but this incident certainly felt as though, this was their problem. The check was in no way, suspicious, as it was not a very large amount, and it was a state of Texas check.We decided to go to one of the main banks, deposited the check with not problem. My husband and I have had accounts with this bank for many years, with no problems, from us. We received an apology for the clerks attitudes, from the bank where we deposited the check. They had nothing to apologize for, being that it was the clerks at the HEB branch, who for some reason, unknown to us, were extremely rude, and incompetent. We won't be dealing with that branch again. We were definitely, close to changing banks.
