I've been coming here for a few years now due to at the time I started coming here they were one of the only places that accepted my insurance. Every single time I've been in office, the wait time has been excessive. If it had only happened once, I could understand, but it's been EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I always schedule an appointment and have never just walked in for one. Usually once you get in the back it goes pretty quick, though. I ordered some glasses and filled out a form for them to contact Lone Star Eye Associates to get my prescription as I didn't have it on me. After a few days, they contacted me asking if I could get my prescription as every time they call to try to obtain it, no one answers. So I started calling on August 9th. No answer. Left a voicemail asking for a return call so I could get my prescription. It's now August 13th and my voicemail still has not been returned. I called again about 7 times on August 10th (different times throughout the day), again to no avail. I even messaged their facebook page. Today, August 13th, I called 3 more times and still no one answered the phone. I also submitted an inquiry on their website on the 10th I believe it was and that hasn't been responded to either. I don't understand how staff cannot answer the phone, return a voicemail, or respond to messages. Why have these options if they aren't going to be acknowledged by staff? I've already paid for my new glasses but since I can't seem to get a hold of anyone to obtain my prescription, I guess I'm just going to have to go somewhere else for a vision exam to get a prescription.

I emailed asking about exam prices and what insurances they took, I got one or two email responses and after telling me what medicaid they accepted they blocked my email from responding to them when the conversation wasn't over. Very concerned and confused by this but definitely won't be coming here.

dr. rama carson takes the time and care to educate the patient during examination, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. i loved my experience there yesterday and plan to return for my regular examinations. i also love that they are in abilene mall, which makes the visit more fun.

I had left my contacts at home when traveling to Abilene. After calling six different Eye Doctors, Lone Star Eye came to my rescue!!! They provided me a single pair of contacts AT NO Charge!! Customer service is not dead, it's alive and well in this office. Thank you for getting me out of a pickle!

Dr visit was excellent but staff up front cannot read an insurance card or spit out a bit of truth to save their lives. Walked in 10 mins early for my appointment to make sure I could get my paperwork done. Handed the girls my insurance card and was toldI would not be covered, after already calling my insurance to verify this place. Lone Star was on the list. Handed card with GROUP number on the card was told I needed to have my group number. I did point out the number on the card and again was told they need my group number. Wife calls me to ask what is taking so long being that it had already been an hour waiting. Told her they needed a group number or pay $70. She called the phone number and it rang at LensCrafters next door and asked to be transferred. The employee asked what the issue was and told us that is a normal occurance next door and they really do not know what they are doing and ended the conversation saying “Good luck!” After the wife calling to talk to them, a group number was agreed upon and accepted. The same group number I had handed them over an hour and 15 mins earlier. So 1hr and 45 minutes into this fiasco the guy behind desk tells me that he has the number I’m supposed to use when I get there. Again, I told him it was the same number I gave them and even pulled the card out for them to see and by god IT MATCHED! Lol! He actually told me they did not look at that! You cannot fathom how much I wanted to just shake my head at the incompetence shared between them. So, 2.5 hours to get a eye exam because 5 people working a front desk cannot pick up a phone and verify insurance because that by golly would be too hard. Doctor you are a great guy and you make it quick once we get back but my word get that counter some training or at least a box of crayons and coloring book. Third and final visit here.

Eye doctor side of the visit was fine....picking up my daughters contacts was a different story. I called to verify their closing time and was told 'about' 5-515p. I found the 'about' odd to me so a few minutes later I called back and was told 6pm which is around what time I thought it would be. I started driving towards Abilene and my daughter called just to see what time they would tell her and she was told 530p. Normally I wouldn't question their closing time but I was pushing it to be there by 5 or even 530p due to my work schedule and not being in Abilene. I rushed over to their office in the mall to make it there by the 515p they had first said to guarantee my daughter could have her contacts she needed today. Upon walking up to their office I see easily 5 if not more families still waiting to be seen (this was at 445pm). Tell me how they are going to close at 515p but all those people are still waiting. It seems to me the office staff was just pulling closing times out of their hat versus the closing time of 7p posted online. Very very unprofessional! I hurried and rushed over from another town outside of Abilene to get the contacts only to have feel I was lied to. No apology was given when I confronted them on this matter. I'm not sure if the dr is aware of what his office staff is telling patients but I'd find it hard to stay in business when you want to say closing time is 'about' such and such time and all 3 ladies that answered the phone give a different response to patients.

TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICEIf i could give this place ZERO stars I would! My husband had his eye exam done here and it IS INCORRECT for his vision. He CANNOT not see out of the glasses that he purchased using the prescription that they gave him.He went back and asked if they could double check or give him another exam to verify that it was correct BUT they did NOTHING ABOUT IT! They wanted to charge him for another exam! He even explained that the eye glass place said his right eye was near sided last time and their prescription has his eye being far sided by alot! How does that even make sense!!We are now having to spend additional money elsewhere for another exam!

Called to make an appointment for the 3rd time in 3 weeks. Their systems are still down so they are not able to accept our insurance. When I offered to just pay out of pocket I was told I would need to call back later because they were too busy to make the appointment. I’m tired of getting the run around, we will pay out of pocket elsewhere.
