New to town and Max’s was recommended to me. Was hoping they were a gem because they are not far from my house. I. Was. Wrong. First thing i took my car in for was the AC and a noise one of my back tires was making. AC works great…except for it does not blow on my feet like it used to. They found the problem for the back tire, and fixed it. I thought, ‘wow! This place is amazing!’ When the car was in there for those things, Max’s son called and mentioned the front of my car was making a rattling noise and his guys couldn’t figure out why. I told him i knew what it was, that my last mechanic (just moved here from out of state) said it wasn’t a big deal and if the sound got worse to fix it then. He figured out what the piece was from that description, agreed, and called me back to give me pricing if i wanted to replace it (about $400), which i declined because the AC was already going to cost me over $1000. He said they also checked the front breaks and they were fine.
As soon as i picked up the car, i could already tell something was different about the front. It was making more noice and just was driving differently. What did they do? I am not one for confrontations, so i just bottled it and went on, just like the AC not working 100%. Within a month the car was back in their shop and i was trying to figure out what this grinding noise was at the front of the car. Sounded like the breaks to me, but they said those were fine a month ago. Yep, it was the breaks and i said to go ahead and fix the rattling problem too because i just wanted the car to drive better, especially before winter. Total was a little over $800. Good grief. Car drives better now. So i want to trust them. I want to say they are our new mechanic, but…thing is they also do not have consideration for other people’s time, or if they have other vehicles to drive in the meantime. If you do not have another car as a backup, don’t take it in there because they will most likely have your car for 2 - 5 days. If you are lucky enough to talk to Max’s son, you will feel taken care of. If you are unlucky enough to talk to the gal in the office, you will never want to go in there. I have called in and the receiver was picked up and hung up in the same motion, then to call back and she is in the crabbiest of moods.
So, this is why i give them a 2 stars and not a 1 star. They can take care of issues, but the work might not be 100%, and they need to get a new person to answer the phones. If you are already stressed and anxiety ridden because your car is not working properly, and you fear how much it is going to cost or how long you are going to go without a vehicle, and if the work is going to be done right for that hefty price, and you get treated and talked to like ‘what do you want!?!’ because they are already so busy or that’s just who she is, it makes matters worse and make me not want to go there ever again…especially if i am hesitant on if the work is even going to be thorough after charging me an arm and a leg.

Hassle free, quality work, and easy dealings.
Recently had a lifter issue with my 2023 GMC 1500 and unfortunately it was out of factory warranty. I didn’t want to go back with the oem equipment due to their prone failure so they completed a AFM/DOD delete with new cam and lifters.
Casey jumped right on it and literally saved thousands over the dealership. Highly recommended

Took my truck in for 2 main issues. The brakes were feeling like the rotors might be warped and the truck was idling bad. They had it for two days and said they replaced the brakes and changed the spark plugs and wires. I drive the truck and brakes were the same and the truck still idled bad and even died while idling. Took it back today and they claim it was idling good and said the rotors were warped. Checked my old receipts and I had changed plugs in wires 20k miles ago. So over $1k down and neither problem was solved. This place used to be good but has gone way downhill.

Casey is a gentleman! I went to have a pre purchase inspection on a used vehicle. Even though he was busy, he found time to do a quick all around check up of the vehicle and didn’t even charge me a dime! I would visit him again if I have any repair needs while I’m in this area.
