The Gathering Place is a large game store and chill hangout for gamers in Abilene, described as a treasure. It offers a great and solid collection of board games, tabletop miniatures, figures, trading card games, and accoutrements, with a decent selection of Magic: The Gathering cards. The store caters more to D&D and Warhammer gaming and has a separate roleplaying game room. There is plenty of space with several tables to play with friends. All employees are kind, competent, super helpful, and a lot of fun to chat with, contributing to a laid-back and comfortable experience. The store sometimes features gorgeous decorations for themed events. A couple of minor criticisms involve its location in an older building within an old shopping center, which can be a little hard to access from certain directions, and a parking lot that is pretty rundown and can be difficult when very busy. Overall, it is a good place to buy games and cards or hang out and play.
I have been here 3 times since learning new hobby and the staff here is great and they’re professionals! Best place for TCG supplies and more.

This place customer service is amazing and makes you feel welcomed. They are incredibly informed and knowledgeable which makes asking questing incredibly easy. Mike helped me tremendously with all the questions I had and everything. Superb service.

Hubbie and I went today for our first ever DnD campaign; Madison was an amazing DM and was so patient with us! Definitely recommend, and we’ll be back!
