These self checkouts are the worst, you scan an item and it clearly is shown on the screen with the name and UPC and then the system calls for help and no one is even around anywhere then after about 2 minutes the lady comes and swats her card near the scanner to remove the error and it does nothing and walks off and she proceeds to help someone else. Also that old geriatric woman with the white unkempt hair in the service booth is rude and unhelpful and started screaming at me when I was merely waiting patiently for a refund at the service booth and had sad nothing to anyone. She was screaming everyone in ear shot how she was short staffed and couldn't help anyone.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Tom Thumb location. I purchased an official Albertsons e-gift card online through the company’s own website, only to be told at checkout that the store does not accept e-gift cards — only physical, hard-copy gift cards. Nowhere on the Albertsons website does it mention that individual stores can opt out of accepting e-gift cards sold directly by the company. Pics are directly from Albertsons website!
To make matters worse, I was escorted out of the checkout line and made to stand off to the side with my two-year-old for nearly 20 minutes while customer service “verified” whether the e-gift card could be used. It was extremely inconvenient and embarrassing, especially since I had already taken the time to load up my groceries and manage a toddler during the wait.
If certain stores don’t accept e-gift cards, that information should be clearly stated before customers purchase them online. I had to come out of pocket $50 unexpected due to this on top of losing $50 purchasing an e-giftcard I can’t use. This experience was unnecessarily frustrating and has made me hesitant to shop at Tom Thumb again.

Cleanest store around, excellent fruit and vegetables. Butcher always ready to help. Need to hire more folks for the cash register. Spent more than checking out than shopping

Bad service, customer service, my lady is racist, she is black, according to the manager, they are racist, it is wrong, they should not work or allow people like that in the store

I want to start off by saying that this is my home Tom Thumb, I never have issues. However, today was a frustrating experience, because the lady that worked the self check out today was extremely rude and unprofessional! First, I scan an item that required her attention, she comes to my register and very rudely says “what am I suppose to be doing?!” , she then takes the item that required her attention and questions the amount printed on receipt. She looks at it and then looks at me and says “ is this amount right?” I said, “that what was given to me.” The amount did seem strange and so I don’t blame her for questioning it but she went about in a very rude way. Rolling her eyes, she takes the deli meat and disappears for about 5 minutes. I decided to keep scanning my items, when she returned I told her that I didn’t want to deli meat after all. (She had touched it and pushed on the packaging it several times). I scanned my alcoholic item and had my drivers license prepared, she came over did not check my ID, pushed a button on the screen and walked away. She then proceeded to be super rude to the rest of the customers, an elderly customer that needed their receipt, she told her in a very rude way that she’s going to have to wait. I called to complain and the woman I spoke to was very apologetic and stated she would address her behavior. Again, I never have any issues, but I have noticed this lady has an attitude and it’s normally not an issue, but today I guess she was very annoyed and took it out on customers.
My visit was on 10/04/2024 between 5:00 - 5:45pm

Add more cashiers & pay them a livable wage. Don’t say no one wants to work and they cannot afford basics. Less self check out. Paying premium on groceries to the have to check myself out and bag my own groceries is insane.

Quality has gone down, check expiration dates, last couple times I bought meat from here it was days past expiration date. Unacceptable.

The lady at the office were you buy cigarettes and get your car registration, is the sweetest, I don't remember her name I think she had red hair , she is very helpful, made my day.

I went on Thursday, September 5 at approximately 3:40 pm to the Addison branch to place an order for a SPECIAL cake for my birthday on September 7, they took the order with all the details, and the contact telephone number, they even took a picture of the cake I wanted. When we arrived on Saturday to pick up the cake in question, it turned out that there was NO CAKE, no one was responsible and they even doubted that the order had been placed in that branch; so we left the supermarket with a NORMAL cake they had on display
The emotional impact was significant, as I had high expectations to celebrate my birthday.
Today is Monday, September 9 at 6:05 pm and I am still waiting on a call from the manager who requested my name and number
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, WILL NEVER GO BACK!!
