This was a horrible experience and the last time I went to the location. My dog was acting and breathing funny. They said as long as I was there before they close they said the would take her. They refused. My dog ending up passing away at my house.

Throughout the years the customer service and communication has gone down. We have used this location for 10 plus years for several dogs and one cat. It is not worth the plans. Waiting for 30 minutes for a vaccination appointment because they didn’t do all vaccines at the well check like discussed when we booked that drop off appointment, is not acceptable.

Update: DR called and apologized about the miscommunication. I realize she sees a lot of dogs everyday.
I have been a member off and on with Banfield over the years and have had no problems, until COVID. It is not what it was pre-covid. I understand why, it's a third party vendor instead of direct vet care. There's a middle man taking a cut off the plate and I bet they are having a hard time keeping veterinarians.
My dog came in on February 14th for her routine exam they realized she had high cholesterol put her on a special diet. They tell me we need to come back in 2 weeks and recheck her blood work to see where her cholesterol is to see if the diet is helping. I bring her in for a drop off visit and they do not check her blood work. Why, you say. Because they need to check her after 60 days! Then why was I supposed to bring her back in 2 weeks? I wasted time bringing her up here and I wasted the doctor's time.
In the summer of 2023 , my dog had to get some kidney stones removed. This location had to call in a third-party doctor to do the surgery for kidney stones and I would have to take her to another location. No thank you! So I ended up taking her to another doctor that I know in Plano, by the way it was cheaper than bringing her to Banfield for the same surgery and I'm a Banfield member. I went ahead and had that other doctor do her vaccinations. They did a 3-year rabies shot. Fast forward to 2024. I schedule her wellness visit with Banfield, they tell me they can't find her in the system because I had her medical record sent to another doctor for her kidney stone surgery so they thought I just checked out even though I've been paying the monthly Banfield Total care. They re-entered my dog into their system and we get the appointment set up. I tell the front desk at Banfield that she's already had her 3 year rabies shot. Instead of believing me they went ahead and gave her another 3-year vaccination for rabies. What the hell?? Why?? Why would you not listen?

We took out sick dog on 02/23/23, the vet tech Chelsea was very dry and did not show compassion. Dr. Byers explained things but I had to ask for different treatment options. I’ve yet to receive a visit summary or copy of my receipt. Quite pricey in my opinion but could be normal to some, I’m a first time pup mom.

Not only the price keeps increasing (I started at 30$ a month, now it’s almost double), but the service is going downhill, today was the last straw…
The “manager” refused to admit my dog unless I signed “contact details verification” link which had a mandatory checkbox allowing Banfield to give/sell my details to affiliates for marketing purposes, are they not making enough money off of me already?!?!
Cancelled my dogs plan immediately.

The due dates for check-ups and vaccines are set up wrong on the Banfield App but they couldnt fix the inaccurate date in the system nor sent me the reminders in a timely manner. They never communicate with me overdue check-up, vaccines or dental schedules for my dog, so I always have to call to confirm and make appointments proactively. Hope they establish better communication system.

Took my dog in to refill meds, we had a week left. They didn't call the meds in and they wouldn't return my calls. We ran out of meds, they finally returned my calls and called in the meds that day. Got the meds and they were the wrong ones. I ended up having to take my dog to another Banfield because this one wouldn't return my calls again, 3 days without her meds. They never called me back, thankful that there are other Banfield in the area.

I came to banfield, because my other family dogs have come before with no issues. I finally got a dog of my own but he’s really high energy. After bringing him to banfield they wanted me to continue rescheduling appointments when he’s drugged, and can’t run any test because he wont let them. I decided to leave banfield and go to a different vet in Allen, and they were able to run every test on him they could to figure out his gastrointestinal problems. I do not recommend them if you have a high energy dog, because they will not work with you.

I have had a positive experience with Banfield over the past few years, during which time I have taken my dog to their facility. They ensure that my dog is well taken care of, and their pricing is reasonable, especially if you have the optimum wellness plan. The service is excellent, and Dr. Smith is outstanding. The only reason I gave this location a 4/5 is because the front desk is sometimes unattended. I would recommend Banfield to anyone looking for a veterinarian for their pet.

Maya's doctor experiences have always been pleasant. The love shown to her everything is rewarding. I believe she knows all the caregivers at the clinic.

The Banfield app is a nightmare when it comes to booking appointment. We booked an appointment in app but got a call next day saying that they don’t have any appointments for the day we booked and the app is showing availability incorrectly. It would be better if Banfield could fix their app and not cause unnecessary scheduling issues to pet owners.
