I have been coming to this Banfield since about 2016 and always had a good experience. But, lately I have become very disappointed.I am say this place has gone steadily down hill. They were so cheerful and caring in the beginning. One of my dogs needed ongoing shots each week and they were always so happy to see him, greeted him by name. Now I don’t recognize anyone and they are not cheerful. Some don’t seem comfortable with dogs. There are no dog or cat patient names posted on the board, which was fun, and more importantly, no names of the veterinarians, or the staff. The facility seems to have all new people, who do not seem happy to be there. Sounds picky but I dropped off my dogs at 8:00 am and asked that they call me as soon as my dogs were seen, and I finally called at 2:00, and was told, oh yeah, come get them. One of my dogs has developed a problem. The vet that called to tell me about it the night after she had seen her. The vet never gave me her name, never gave me a referral, was not helpful as to what I should do next.I will try another location. I have to give up on this place and will leave Banfield as soon as I can find a new place.

I don’t normally have too good of an experience with Banfield, but our dog was sick, and the Allen location had the earliest appt. Taylor was the most compassionate and helpful person I’ve interacted with. Just wanted her to know that I really appreciated her help in relating messages to the vet and help in finding a more affordable, alternate antibiotic for my dog.

We’ve been going to Banfield for several years. At first, years ago, they were attentive and caring. But over the years they got pushier with expensive medications and less careful. The past couple years it has felt like they never listen to our concerns or take accurate notes. The amount of times I have to repeat information to them that they promise they’ll take note of for the next appointment has been ridiculous. And after 2020 trying to get an in-person exam has been like pulling teeth. Today was the last straw. They administered incorrect medication to our already seizure-prone dog. It’s one thing for their reception staff, who are clearly over-worked and underpaid, to be disorganized. But for a doctor not to check for consent on medication? Absolutely unacceptable. I know mistakes can happen but mistakes in the medical field are dangerous and today just really exemplified their pattern of disregard for the patients and clients. I do not recommend at all.

If I could give a negative 5 I would. This vet has repeatedly scammed, changed appointments so your conveniently outside of a vaccination window so you owe them more money, and tell you to make an appointment 3 weeks out and the next doctor tells you they can’t do a booster shot yet and to reschedule while still charging you for the office visit. I think the worst thing over all was that they took my 4 month old kitten to the back and held her down to draw blood and get a vaccine. They ended up injuring her leg from being too rough with her and now I am faced with going to a different vet to make sure there is nothing broken. If you are thinking about taking your pet here for a convenient appointment just don’t.

Vet was very pushy and tried to scare me with false information to make more money off me and my pet. I have been a pet owner for years I know what is right and wrong. Was told that a single fecal yes was $179 when I have never been charged more than $50 at other vets. Was given wrong information as to the check out process and left forgotten about in an exam room for over 30 mins. Long wait for actual exam. Appointment was at 5 for a recheck and we didn’t leave until almost 6:30 that is absolutely ridiculous when it took maybe 5 mins for the nurse to get our information and then max 10 mins with the vet. And on top of that there wasn’t an assistant available for the exam so I was forced to hold my kitten while the vet did the exam and checked her temperature. On top of that my kitten is not even 2 months yet so to spend a hour and a half at the vet is way to much at that age. Will never be back.

We are officially done with this location. The staff is rude, never smiling or welcoming. Why be in this field if you’re not a people/animal person? Our dog has high vet anxiety - and I would too knowing what I know about this staff. Rather than talking us through options or working with us and Benny to ease him, they immediately made us start drugging him before appointments. When I mentioned that the Trazadone gives him a bad reaction I was dismissed. We understand everyone needs to be safe, but Benny is our family member and we would like for someone to at least pretend they care how we feel. I’ve filled out a negative review after every appointment and no one has ever reached out to ask how they can improve. For our most recent visit, we were called and reminded 3 times about our appointment at 7:30AM on Monday the 29th. It was not once mentioned to us that the store would not be open and we would not be able to get in. Why schedule is for a time you know is unattainable? 3.7 stars is honestly too high. We will not be back.

Avoid unless you enjoy spending an endless amount of money. My dog is on a wellness plan and got injured. Paid 500 dollars for X-rays and consult (they tell me I got 10% off) went down the road for another opinion, got 4 X-rays, 3 medications, and surgical consult for 250 and there’s no subscription. When I called Banfield to cancel my subscription, I was going to need to pay $350 just to cancel. Terrible customer service by not explaining that you are trapped for a year on their monthly “wellness plans” that only gets you discounts that are laughable at best.

I love them. Thank you guys for having cared so well for my baby while he was still with us. I particularly want to thank Dr. Washington who always calmly and very clearly explained everything to me. Thank you guys.

I met the vet on my first visit before sending my pup. That day she came out and told me what my pup needed and what it would cost. Plus or minus $400 today or purchase a service package for $37/month that included some bonus benefits for an entire year. Her smile and knowledge made it seem like the small monthly fee was a no-brainer so I signed up. After handing her the signed papers I never saw or spoke to her or any other vet again. Appointments were made and met with the receptionist. . There were no Q&As or even fake pleasantries. My puppy was dropped off and picked up like mail. By the fourth visit i asked what other benefits were included in the service package I bought. The receptionist said that all services included in my package had been rendered.I knew the contract was for a year but since there was nothing left to do to my puppy I forgot all about them. Two years later I wanted to get my dog snipped and found out that the service package I purchased way back when had been automatically renewing. It expired and renewed twice already. For a year and a half I had been paying for services I wasn't using.I explained the situation then asked if I could use the unused payments toward getting my dog fixed. They said I could cancel today with no penalty or I could get my dog fixed for an extra $75/month on top of what I'm already paying for another six months then cancel.Ultimately it's my own fault but I'm posting to give someone else a heads up.

I’m pretty sure after listening to my voicemail they changed my appointment time then made up a lie about a man calling and confirming it was moved. Doctor was nice and informative but that will be my last time going to that place.

Took my dog for his annual teeth cleaning to the Allen location. I scheduled it there since they were helpful in the previous visit with my dog by taking him on the same day with a respiratory condition. He has had his previous cleanings in the Addison location and recent surgery in the Wylie location since we just recently moved there this past year. All the times that I have been taking him to Banfield I never heard of my dog being aggressive or having behavior issues with staff (humans). He is a GSD rescue who is reactive to other dogs but a big teddy bear with people. So yesterday, when I dropped him off in the morning I didn't think twice about it. But I was anticipating a normal follow up call after the procedure. Around noontime, I received a call that the surgery was canceled because my dog bit the technician and the staff was uncomfortable handling him after he was premedicated before the anesthesia. They explain to me that apparently he has acted out aggressively previously according to their notes in previous surgeries where he is premedicated. So when I pick him up in the late afternoon around 3:30 he is stoned but very much scared with his tail tucked between his legs and whimpering escorted by two techs The tech at the desk is insisting on me paying for bloodwork that was done without the surgery/cleaning because it is not covered by my plan. Apparently if the surgery is not done you still pay for labs. I am thinking to myself as a healthcare worker myself, I know the risk of dealing with patients with altered mentation especially after being premedicated with sedatives. You would think the the tech should have been trained to anticipate these situations with animals under the influence Why am I paying for unnecessary labs for a procedure that was not done because the staff all of a sudden are scared of my dog and refused to go along with the scheduled procedure. My dog is at home clearly traumatized not acting normally very much confused and not eating. This dog normally will eat even after having surgeries. The more I think about it the more upset I get and honestly makes me think he may have been mistreated in retaliation. Banfield Allen seems to care more about getting paid than the well-being of their patients.

This has been the only place I have taken my pet for care and needs. I am happy with the outcome. Friendly and helpful. They do go over and beyond to ensure you can get your needs met. Thanks everyone

Staff was always nice and friendly but never felt like they did enough, had brought my puppy in 3 times in 3 months and payed almost a thousand dollars and they always said she is fine just needs to eat nothing is wrong, did bloodwork twice and more, Saturday I got home and took her to emergency hospital where they let me know that her liver was failing because she had pancreatic issues that they said have been going on for months this wasn’t a 1 day thing…… also let me know that was probably why she wasn’t ever eating a lot and that this was without 10 minutes of me getting their, I had left her at Banfield for hours at a time, they said this could have been easily prevented and know my best friend is gone, just 15 months oldAlso the support was not helpful in any way
